Hi Deano ferrets are usually in season in the months with days that have long day light hours (if that makes sense?) so march sort of time to September/October but can be earlier or later. When a jill is in season they are more likely to get a disease and become ill, so I have mine taken out of season fairly soon after they come into season. There's a few different methods, natural way (mating), the jab or getting neutered. It's each to their own really when deciding. Each one also has it's own problems/risks. Mating to take them out of season- mating is quite rough so you need to keep an eye

I'm hopefully going to get some long nets aswell, I hadn't thought about blocking the holes! Good Idea! The one hedge I think I'm going to do first has most of the holes on the one side bar about 3, so I will either use a long net or there is a hole in the hedge with fencing in, I might have to show off my gymnastic skills, hurdling the fence (wont end well!) Thanks for the reply ATB Dan

Thanks for the replies everyone, I want to get a lurcher but I cant at the moment, so I think I'll get some money together and get a long net and some stop nets. I'm also going to try and find someone to go ferreting with me so I can have one either side, thanks again, safe hunting Dan

I was thinking about a long net and most of the hedges where I ferret have gaps in but there filled with fencing so I should be able to see all the holes thanks for the reply, safe hunting Dan

Hi everyone I ferret by my self purely because all of my mates cant shut up long enough when ferreting so it's stupid to take them. I've only done quite open warrens so far and I'm just wondering how you can ferret a hedge by yourself? Obviously you cant be on both sides at the same time so how do you do it by yourself? Sorry for a stupid question, thanks in advance Dan

Yeah I had the carb ultrasonically cleaned, it's a chinese import that I use for messing about on, moto mx I think? It's a copy of the Yammy pw . I don't know if you know of pete Jones motorcycles from shrewsbury? He told me he couldn't match the jet to any others and that I would struggle to find a new carb, I'll give JB racing a ring thanks atb Dan

Hi everyone not sure if there might happen to be a bike mechanic or someone that knows a bit about bikes? The problem I have is the pilot jet for my offroad 80cc is blocked and it must be a bit of grit or something, does anyone know how i could free it up because it's pretty well jammed in there! I tried carb cleaner and wire, did nothing. It then went to 3 different garages, last one tried same as me and the air line, nothing happened then they let it soak in some sort of professional cleaner over night which should break down rubbish, nothing happened so he has now agreed with me that it's g

Jack Pyke English oak camouflage trousers. Juniors XL. Very good condition, only worn approximately 10-15 times. Open to offers, not looking for a lot or willing to swap for something hunting related. Thanks Dan

The same sort of thing happened to my dads landrover ages ago, he cant remember exactly how much he paid for a new brake hose, he said about 70- quid possibly a bit more. Then welding on the bracket, it shouldn't take to long to do, probably touching 100 quid. Like foxtails said give a few other garages a quick ring to see what sort of money they would charge. ATB Dan

Cleaning Your Rifle?
DanAdams replied to ferret_uk's topic in Rifle Reviews, Technical Help and Tips
When I bought my gun which is synthetic the gun shop said to clean the whole thing with car dash board cleaner it makes it look tidy like but I'm still going to buy some sort of proper cleaner that will actually protect the barrel. You can get a proper spray, Napier do some good ones, safe shooting, Dan -
Smk Xs20 Barrel Moving Side To Side
DanAdams replied to Fretwell 59's topic in Rifle Reviews, Technical Help and Tips
About of both I had to fit a new trigger on mine to stop it pulling ATB Dan instead of doing stuff to smk's you'd be better off buying a decent springer , weirauch, air arms That's why i got rid of my one and bought a crosman nitro venom dusk, not an amazing springer but much better quality than my old smk, only paid £300 but it's my second air rifle so I didn't want to spend loads, ATB Dan -
