  2. Well done. Glad th you have found a few to have a go at at, and as you have said. Keep going back to the farms and keep asking. It's just a matter of getting you and your name out t here. Takes time, It took me about 12 months to get my first shooting permission. Lost that awhile ago now. Owners sold the land, I don't have any permissions at the moment. But I've not really been looking for anything. Once you have one permission, don't stop looking for others. Never stop. Because you never know when you will lose any of them. Good luck on your ferreting , yeah pal just gunna keep goi
  3. Wait till you get the collars sorted then try it again mine made that noise at first before I turned on the collar(and turned off the phone)then it went into hunt mode and worked fine, never had anymore problems, apart from spending 45 mins trying to locate a lost collar under ground with a pal him with his finder and me with mine both saying they were at our feet except we were 20' apart wasn't until my PAL realised he had left his phone on and it was that that his reciever was picking up!! Twat
  4. If putting hutch straight onto grass make sure you have a base on hutch as the little buggers will dig their way out! My Jill is an expert at this we have a run that just sits on the grass and she will dig her way out in no time...

  10. What are peeps thoughts on ferreting this time of year? Reason being as I now have 7 hungry little mouths to feed they are going through a whole large bunny very other day and topping up with chicken wings and thighs is costing a bloody fortune, but if that's what it needs then so be it I won't scrimp on their welfare,so the reason for the question could I take the Jill out for a couple of hours and get me a few bunnys.

  18. My hob max got out of the run on Monday due to the catch not shutting right,we were hoping he would turn up again as his mate ruby has just had the first lot of kits, but after a few days I'd resided myself to the fact that he'd decided he preferred the wild well we do live in the middle of fields with loads of rabbits around, but today we went to the local town down the main road and there in the central reservation was a big albino ferret laying dead been hit by a car,so sad he was a big boy almost 1kg in weight and took no shit off any rabbit he'd drag them out if they wouldn't bolt,as say sh
  19. Just spoken to wife, she's an animal geneticist and the albino gene is what's called recessive which means in eejits terms this that gene is the odd one so crossing 2albinos don't mean kits will be all albino they will more likely be what ever the original strong gene was so let's see what we get?
  20. Hi all my albino Jill just had her first litter 6 in all and they all seem fine at present, one is about half the size of rest but it's got plenty of life in it? Questions? When is it safe to handle them as don't want mum to reject them. Is there anything we need to be doing apart from letting mum take care of them. Does mum need anything extra in her diet?we feed chicken whole and carcass. What about dad he's still in with them but don't seem to be bothered with them, apart from that mum won't let him near them. Any other advice They are now a week old and starting to move out of nest.
