Went out again today butarabbit and the ferrets looked at the holes we did last week,tried out my locator and collar on my Jill put it on her and down the hole she went came out a different hole so no bunnys down there,back in she went came out first hole again minus collar(bollocks)spent the next 45 mins digging trying to find the f ing thing(at £70each I ain't leaving it down there) It was comical there was us using the locators trying to find it mine was saying it was just below my feet toms was saying it was just below his feet about 20ft from my position so were both sweeping the area t

Cheers dan25 I honestly thought we would blank as none of us human or ferret has much experience but today has just made me more determined to get better. One thing I need to change ASAP is my nets I have these thin green bisley nets,what a pain in the arse they are,toms ones were much easier to use so going to have to get some like that I think.

Bustamunky and myself had a day out with our newbie ferrets today.we first went to the farm where I have a perm and the first set we found had 6holes so netted up and put Tom's little Jill in and less than 5 mins later the first bunny bolted quickly dispatched and netted back up and we didn't have to wait long for the next same again and quickly dispatched and re netted and the the third came to the net,so we had 3 in the space of 10 mins great start for us 2 we were not expecting that as Tom was a bit worried his Jill wouldn't go into the warren but she went in time and again with no problems

Yeah ok maybe get her jabbed then as still not sure what she will be like,in that case may be on the look out for a couple of good workers.?

Now I have your attention,I have two sandy ferrets a Jill and a hob not sure if they are brother and sister as person I got them from had two litters from different Jill's all the same colour and then mixed them up when getting rid of, now when it comes to the mating season if they are related is this going to cause problems and if so should I remove the Jill now and get her mated by another hob. May seem a bit of a numpty question but I want to be doing it right. Thanks Tim

New to this but having worked for he railways I do know that all land bordering rail lines is the property of BR, and any one caught on it is libel to prosecution.best o get the permission first.

Yeah sounds good, how far into ferreting you gotten so far? Where abouts is white leafs? I've got the little beasties well I say little the hob's the size of a small cat he's a big brute the Jill will make a good hunter when we let her out in the garden she soon hunts out the holes in the hedge and shows great interest in getting down there.I need nets a carry box and collars and locators. Got a couple of places to go so that side is sorted,could really do with going out with someone with some experience maybe once or twice to just learn the basics. Whiteleaf is on lower rd teynham

New to ferreting so I need some advice. Have rats under the chicken house if I send the ferrets under there will they sort them,ie either kill them or flush the rattys out so either we can sot them or the dogs catch them? This will be the first time the ferrets have hunted so it will be a learning curve for everyone Any tips much appreciated Tim

New to ferreting,I have the ferrets in a nice double cage,just need the kit. If anyone has any surplus kit or knows someone that would like to sell some please let me know. Many thanks Tim
