    hi Rolfe, i wonder if the two i caught had bred together would the young turned out more ginger like the one you caught. i caught 3 moles on the same place last year all normal coloured. this was one of them built like arnie swartzanigger.

    hi broady, once you know the basics, ie keeping your traps scent free, bedding your trap, the more you do it the more you learn. like this time 7 moles one trap same hole/tunnel, most i've had before 4 in the same tunnel, i'll just leave the trap untill it stops catching. has any body else had a similar experience as this, the normal for me is between 1-3 moles job finnished

    here's a couple firsts for me two of these moles had a ginger colouring mainly to their under sides, plus i caught 7moles in the same trap 2 single catches 2 double catches and another single the last 2 having the ginger colour, all in all i've took a total of 8moles in two & a half weeks from the same garden.

    hi micky, i've had the same problem with some the mk6's but no problem with mk4's, i'll try and get a couple of pic's up when my mate brings his camara, i just set them with out using the safty catch.

    i caught four last month it was a fluke though the farmer asked me to take the magpie call birds away as we were not catching, then we had four jays in two days with no call bird in the trap, these are the first jays i've ever caught.

    nothing beats catching in snares, especialy when you make them your self, you want to try rat snaring, all the info on that is at the top of the snaring & trapping section, nice snares by the way.

    i try to check a couple of times a day if possible, the reason for this a trap that has caught or missed fired is not working, and to me that's the reason i trap & snare there there working 24 hrs a day.

    i've got to leave him catch a few to keep him happy no fair play to him he plods along with the fenns and a few snares, we hope to give it a go with the smoker & the dogs shortly.

    Here's a pic of a Mole i caught the other day. It took a few days because the owner of the garden put Barbed Wire and Weedkiller in the Runs

    yes i've caught five up to now, just starting to pass a few on to other people, i'm lucky as where i live there's plenty of corvides.

    Hi Rolfe, i've got one in my collection, i cant find a mole big enough to try it out though.

    here's one my mate caught to day teejay, with a single strand steel wire.its getting a bit worse for wear now as its caught 6 rats up to now. what wire are you using brass ?.

    no there two different traps OTC the bottom one should have two wires it to trigger it, the top one is a one way trigger on the body grip principle, hope this helps.

    nice catches teejay, well done, if your string had been a bit shorter it would have lifted that rat clear of ground. i used to have the same problem.

    i did a fishery a couple seasons back for a friend of mine they had rats were coming from surrounding fields around the holding areas where thefish were kept there were good runs leading to the location , so i just snared them with the hazel benders , until all the runs went dead , caught quite a good lot , it seemed to do the trick, but all locations are not the same , like snareman say's try snaring them with benders, once you master the art you will be more hooked on that than the fishing, you will find all the info at the top of the page in the pinned secton.

    i caught one today but i had a jackdaw as a call bird or is that cheating i use eggs with a hole like another bird has been there already, i'll swap you that magpie for half a dozen eggs if you like mate yis.
