  1. That's great thanks very much!
  2. I've been looking into getting a NV spotter, I know people will say go thermal but haven't got £2000+ needed to get a decent one so I'm looking at digital NV spotters and just wanted people's opinions on what's good and what's not. I'll be using predominantly on foxes so need something with decent vision at distances. I've been looking online at the various pulsar models and the digisite 860 RT looks good being able to record and have built in wifi. Just wondered if anyone has experienced with these or similar models and what they think of them, or are there better options for similar price.
  3. That's the think I haven't got a spotter at the moment so I will be using it for that as well...
  4. My mate had the n750a and he said it runs out of juice quickly just using Batteries in it hence the battery pack, my other option would be to fit the battery pack to the rifle stock...
  5. Thanks very much, I will have to see what the thickness of the scope tube is and see if it will fit as there is no free rail to put the rail fitted one on.
  6. Hi folks, I've brought myself a pulsar n750a and have also got the additional pulsar battery pack to fit into the side mount. I have tried my mates armasight ir and it works great with the n750a but as I have the battery pack on the side mount I have nowhere to attach the ir to the scope. Can additional mounts be purchased and fitted to the top of the scope? Cheers Jarvis
  7. This is my first gundog. Had lurchers and terriers. Doing part time keeping now so needed a new addition! 9 month old cocker and she's coming on really well. Hopefully She'll be ready for next season. Whether you get a cocker or a springer my main bit of advice is don't rush them and ensure basics are right I.e. Sit stay, heel and recall. I was told that your better to have a great dog working with you for 8 years than a hinderance for 12 years! You don't want a fast gundog, A fast dog misses birds, you want a steady one with a fast mind and all spaniels have that, not all of them a
  8. How did you get on Jarvis? Hi mate, tried it last night. Was impressed! The 3 brightness settings works well. I took my old lightforce lamp to compare and the beam reached just as far. One issue was to get the beam to reach as far it had to be a real tight beam so for flicking around spotting it wasn't as effective, but I've ordered the 50mm lens and that apparently will enable a wider beam at distance. I am impressed with it though and the different colour led's worked well. If you are local to Northamptonshire your welcome to come and have a look and try.
  9. I'll use it for spotting, I do most my lamping, foxes and rabbits from my truck (.22 & .243) got the 67mm red, green and white leds. I use at the moment a lightforce lamp plugged in truck cigarette lighter. Just wanted to try something with no wires!!
  10. Ordered one on Tuesday. Should be coming tomorrow I'm out lamping tomorrow night so if It comes I'll be trying it out so I can let you know!
  11. The fenns doing their job well mate, catching plenty of squirrels at the moment. Moving the camera traps about at the moment to find some more fox runs then the snares will be out again!
  12. All started Thursday evening, last two blocks of wheat was being combined so bound to be some foxes in it. I was still at work when first block was being done but managed to get up there ready for the last block. I arrived to see they had only just started so had a quick drive round to check feeders and walk birds in. Get the 3 pens done then get a call, where are you one just ran out! Oh bugger I'm on my way, sit for three hours nothing until very last strip and a cub runs out bang it's down. That's 12 been had whilst combining so not bad going. So plan was to get back out Friday night and
  13. A bit round my way (South Northants) not a great amount which is good. Shot 25 on Friday, 2 had myxi.
  14. Due to being let down I have 2 albino Jills, 1 albino hob and 1 polecat hob left from litter. Now 9 weeks old PM for more details I'm in Northamptonshire Thanks Jarvis
  15. No exactly what you mean! Always get more calls in the summer! If I can't get to them to ferret I cage trap, snare, .22 lr, fencing etc depending on the environment. At least you are seen to be putting the effort in!
  16. Cheers mate. Give me bell if you still have my number. The caller is working well, the jackdaws round here love it!
  17. I've had a cat in a trap before, bloody wild thing it was! Must have been a feral from a nearby farm. Nearly took my fingers off getting it out! A week later I caught it again! Let's just say there won't be a third time.... I find best results are when baited with carrot sliced length ways.
  18. Doesn't seem to bother the badgers and foxes near me, I've had them come right up to the camera and give it a sniff... was more worried about it getting stolen lol Oh haha, I don't have that problem. No footpaths on the shoot Not that people stick to them anyway! Bloody right to roam!
  19. Made this up out of some old angle iron and two old chairs. Bolted at the front and lifts off in a second. Out on the foxes tomorrow night so will see how it does. Nice padded seat should cushion the ride!
  20. Doesn't seem to bother the badgers and foxes near me, I've had them come right up to the camera and give it a sniff...
  21. It's great when you find a spot like that!
  22. There is no glow from what I've seen. Not an issue for me as not set anywhere near footpaths or where members of the public would go and well hidden. The night footage isn't the best but lovely and clear in day light. I set one out trying to find a fox run and instead I got 103 videos of badgers, deer and rabbits!
  23. Typical! They are good little cams. Included in price was batteries and sd card, which I though was really good as the more expensive ones I've brought in the past had neither included.
  24. If anyone is after a good cheap trail cam they are selling some in Aldi at the moment. £69.99 they are good quality as well.
