  1. Very good variety of exercise for fitness the muay thai, don't get that with the eskrima, but it's all enjoyable
  2. Never trained with the chucks Have seen couple of quiet lads who were naughty with them, I learned knife, stick and trapping, all very interesting mixed with the muay thai
  3. Floor to ceiling ball, but smaller good for diagonal elbow uppercuts, triangle bone, naughty stuff lol
  4. Had some training with fella at 1.20, he done his grading with a pair of nunchaku in each hand modest as they come, was thinking of some elbow, and open hand stuff, ridge hand, triangle bone etc on a reaction ball, some body weight exercises etc, then build up from there
  5. Bit busy with other things at the minute mate, but I'm hoping to sort some short training routines out for myself, just for a bit of exercise, and well being Thai, and eskrima stuff
  6. I will add, it doesn't matter how physically good or well prepared you are, if you aren't mentally strong enough or cut out for a sport as hard as this, it is as well to realise it, and either enjoy it as a keep fit, self defence form of exercise, or look elsewhere, when Toddy came over he was teaching Taekwondo as he thought nobody would want muay Thai until a few students started asking, it's very hard, and takes total commitment to acquire the necessary attributes
  7. Was diagnosed with a hiatus hernia, and couldn't train properly anymore, but always maintained an interest, I remember my trainer relating a story of Toddy doing demonstrations of kicking lit cigarettes from sky high mirror balls, and the Taekwondo teams asking him to give it up ,as he was putting them to shame, also he said Toddy was big for a Thai about 13 stone and he would nearly split the bags with his round kicks
  8. Competed once, had a right shin injury, and a deadened left thigh from preparations, got stopped with a knee to the cream crackers, Square bar Manchester
  9. Good stuff mate, my trainer was under Master Toddy then Master A, when Toddy went to Vegas, done a couple training courses with Master A they were rough lol
  10. Always liked Damien mate, like an English Ramon Dekkers, have you got any Thai trainers in Ireland Francie?
  11. I'm not up on the objective, you erudite young bugger
  12. We're buying the plot mate, it's a bit like an allotment set up in here, there's a lot of plots, but once you're inside, you feel like you're in a world of your own
  13. No joke though, when people get into difficulty, see the woman recently attempt to squat 180kg on the Smith machine without any competent spotters, like a feckin guillotine
  14. I hear they'll do owt for a free six months subscription to slim fast
  15. Get a pair of Thai pads mate, no need to batter shins with wine bottles, or rolling pins
  16. Thought you were talking about big Bolo lol, you live some life kidder, used to love all these films when I was a kid, used to go to old Leos video shop, and he'd ask are these for your brother?, as we were under age lol
