  3. if you scatter barley straw it fluffs up when it gets wet they'll pick at it keeps them occupied,, keep water at drinkers birds tend to follow shucks an rivers on if they are left to drink at them,,, if you buy aniseed oil and mix in with your feeding the birds smell it and will come for miles into it then when there feeding well you don't need your oil then keep plenty of hoppers at start then you can reduce down on hoppers that aren't been really used best of luck what breed did he let out???

  7. I've recently started shooting clays quite alot i shoot eleys Olympic 28gm I've plenty of faith in them. when shooting them i can dust them 20 to 30 yards no bother at all but once i let them out 40 yards plus (when there slowing down) but i can't seem to touch them at that distance do you just follow through something the same or do you lead or what its mind baffling for me as more experienced men can lift my gun and break them further out with the same cartridges,,,, so its not the pattern what am i doing wrong please??

  13. totally agree, hence the reason I went out last night even though it was quite bright. But honestly, I couldn't even walk on some parts of the field without sinking over my boots. With only a month or so left of the season I wouldn't be waiting for perfect conditions, but I'm just not convinced it would be beneficial to be chasing and losing rabbits that would normally be caught. I know it'd get the dog fitter in the long run, but it's not going to do much for confidence. it'll make her hungrier.. get her out at them just don't stay out as long as you usually would be, tiring on
  14. very nice dogs mate.. hope they do well for you you'll be at a few shows we them you'll clear up
  15. if you've got access to a ferret and some purse nets head out to a borrow or so get a few rabbits and bag them.. head to a big open green field and take a rabbit out the bag and let the pup see it and drop the rabbit and let it run 15 yards then slip your lurcher and let it get its kill.. then do same under lamp at night hell soon click on if he's any kind of a lurcher then stick to walking into squatters till they get up hell get on to it ATB
