    if you have the know how to could make yourself an ir illuminator that you could use for your rat problem. and someone one here i think it was already made there own iphone scope mount. made a real good job of it aswell but before you go buying an expensive ir illuminator i would test your phone with someones ir torch first. illuminators aint cheap.

    do you already have a nv setup? if not i have a night shot capable sony camcorder i was going to make into a nv setup but i never got round to it.

    what colour is the light through the phone, i good ir camera shows it light up as white my smartphone show it up as purple. i dont think its sensitive enough. could be wrong though.

    here is my top quality laser range finder, never let me down. is built to last a lifetime. manufacturer states it can range find up to 400M. it very light weight and the design is very sleek. works perfectly and comes with batteries. looking for £. i have more photos but they are too big to put on here so will have to send via email. also, forgot to mention it comes fully batteried up and with a carry bag/pouch.

    i thought of the same method but you use a bore sighter aswell so no shots need to be fired!! technically it would work as long as your bore sighter was true.

    i dont like to take my gun out of the stock unless i have actually had the gun out so if im doing my weekly once over ill just leave it in the stock. i just thought today. obviously you cant stop the oil from getting on the stock so is the oil hurting the stock. i mean i do try and clean up as much as possible but these always a little left over. will this be damaging the stock?
