  1. Take it to basics mate, check allen screws on scope turrets bases and rings, if no joy there check to see if barrel is still free floating, check bi-pods locked tight, what about a good Anti fouling routine, copper wise, etc. i have been a bundle of nerves when shooting with someone new and missed at 70 yards more than once mind so good luck check the basics and you will find something....
  2. SNAP SHOT

    SNOW

well it started today at lunchtime and hasn't stopped since, about 6 to 8 inches fell in the space of 4 hours and the ground was wet and it still lay..... took me over an hour to get home with all the stranded traffic......... i made it home at least normally a 15 to 20 minute journey.... yes i was driving but only at a snails pace due to the driver in front..... it's been ages since i seen a snowfall like this......yay
  3. As far as I'm concerned if you make the effort to get out at all, WHEN you could be at something else then you are hunting, real or not how many times or not, days with good bags and bad ones........ As long as your out there........ not done near as much this year as last year due to alot of facts but theres always the coming year......
  4. mudman i shoot a tikka 595 and on a bad day shoot about an inch at 100, nearly alway 1/2 inch, and i'm telling you the truth, 1) did you buy the rifle form new 2) do you ever clean the carbon out, with a good remover 3) how often do you remove copper build up.... 4) what weight bullets are you shooting? the 595 i have will not shoot 100 grain bullets below 1 1/2 inches so i shoot 95g sst for deer... and 58g v-max, 70g blitz kings on foxy the 595 is worth good money on the second hand market for the action alone, i'm doing a custom build on mine within the next 2 months, The
  5. i use a .243 for fox and deer, use a scope with target turrets, use 95g sst for deer and anything in between for fox, i only have to adjust 1/2 inch right for difference in point of impact, but it doesn't always work out this way.... So i see no problem as long as you got a scope with target turrets. 87g v-max will also do the job on foxy.... so why go fastest flatttest? i'd personally sell the 22-250 and put the extra money to custom build or semi custom.....
  6. then we can have a big party right......................
  7. your not much help then are you............ maybe you could pay the fees instead.......
  8. What you working at anyway that you hate so much.......? big decision, as said hope all goes well for you,
  9. hope all goes to plan for you mate,
  10. Already done tony, but i still dont like the font type, its thin but i tried to change it to no avail, each forum has different settings so i'll stick with using IE i think. cheers snap.
  11. alright peeps, i'm trying firefox as i'm having trouble with internet explorer, now the display font wise and size wise is slightly different to IE. So any help on font size and style to get it to look the same would be great, As i want it to look the same as IE, as the text is somewhat hard to read on firefox settings, if you now what i mean cheers guys Snap.
  12. Wouldn't worry about barrel life mate, just accuracy, As i shoot alot of 58's wih the 1/10 twist at present, and barrel life was fine, just for the new build i'm looking for info of anyone who shoots this twist rate with this bullet.
  13. so many conflicting reports on the internet, it's hard to find out, but 87g v-max will take thier place if not.........
  14. Anybody load or shoot 58g v-max from any of the twist rates mentioned above, how is accuracy please......... snap.
  15. believe it or not i heard just a while ago of a tikka t3 not grouping the shots either and its just out of the box???????????? .223 calibre seems something is amiss at the minute with tikka.
  16. these are the frst couple od instances where i have heard of this happening, Well as you know anything can be faulty, good luck with it, i hope you get sorted.
  17. i used to see a fair few reds on my local patch but poachers shot at anything that moved and the deer are now spread out over a wide area. to many people shooting the same land also is not good as there can be no managemant plan undertaken. shame they don't see the numbers dropping.
  18. you have to have an EU firearms pass, permission from the gardi, to whichever area you are going, any air rifle even under 12ft/lbs is classed as a firearm here, So be very carefull.... check this out for a form. http://www.caireland.org/Forms_and_downloa...lic_of_Ireland/
