  1. Guys, it was a pleasure to meet you and I am glad the ticket went to such a worthy recipient. Not a cheap day as I bought a mamba lite 4-16x44 for the pro sport and a clulite mg125 gunlight. But I enjoyed my trip to the BSS, as a newbie it was very interesting to see all the kit on display there, and I got out of the car park before it turned into a mud bath. Atb. Russ
  2. Thanks Davy, Looks like I will be getting a one piece Sportsmatch mount, with the recoil pin. Enjoyed meeting you and the other THL guys yesterday. Regards and best wishes. Russ
  3. Thanks mate, I wanted something low profile as my hawke is a great scope but the turrets are a bit too big for my liking. Regards. Russ
  4. Thanks SKot. I see you have got the Mamba Lite 4-16x44 on one your your HW's. You happy with it? Regards. Russ
  5. Forgot to add. Thanks for any advice given. ATB. Russ
  6. I recently purchased an Air Arms Pro Sport in 177. The scope it came with is a piece of cheap junk, so I bought myself a MTC Mamba Lite 4-16x44. Previously I used Sportsmatch two piece mounts for the scope on my FX Cyclone which I am well pleased with. The advice I need is: As the Pro Sport is spring powered should I use a one piece mount or stick with two piece? I used Sportsmatch mounts as the guys at the club I use ( Midshires Marksman) said they were the best you can get for airguns. Are there any other brands that are just as good?
  7. You could also try the club I am a member of: Midshires Marksman, tried to post the link but it wont let me Just google it and go to our website. We shoot every Saturday near Sandy in Beds. Its a very friendly club and I cannot recommend it enough. Regards. Russel.
  8. Very useful bit of information. I,ve just registered. Thanks for posting this mate.
  9. Due to unforeseen circumstances I have a spare advance purchase ticket for tomorrow ( Sunday) I will sell it for £15:50 which is £2 cheaper than the cost of the on the day ticket. PM me and I will arrange to meet you at the show with the ticket. I will be monitoring my messages until 21:00hrs tonight. ATB. Russ
  10. Daryl, I agree with Si definately get dust plug/cover for the fill port. Mine come from Best Fittings, well worth the money. ATB. Russ
  11. Great video lads, nice to see someone else using an FX rifle. I have an FX Cyclone and it really is a fantastic little gun. Having spent some time in Cumbria I know what you mean about the rain. Regards. Russ
  12. I read them both...... in W H Smith, then put them back on the shelf and save myself the four quid they both cost. Save your money mate, they are both full of advertising hype for the latest rifle, jacket, scope etc, etc. You will get better honest advice on here. Atb. Russ
  13. Nice set of pictures, but as has been mentioned previously they would be even better in focus. Atb. Russ
  14. Phil, you are a lucky man to spend time with Si. I enjoyed watching the video, another classic from VHTV. All the best to you and Si.
  15. I am not going to claim the credit for this one as it originally comes from an airgun magazine. However as I have been very chuffed with the results I wanted to share it with all the forum members. Its quite simple. If you have an any camo item of clothing that is now past its best, dont just throw it away, use its as a camo wrap on your rifle. The cut off bits from my mtp trousers have been used to "camo" my silencer, the front of my scope and I even had enough left over to wrap around the rifle barrel a few times. ( The trousers were meant for someone six foot and as I am five foot s
  16. Let us all know how you get on with Pro Sport. All the best for your return to civvy street.
  17. Some great advice from Pianoman there, as a newbie my advice would be go for accuracy rather than power. its no use having a powerful rifle if you cannot hit anything. Do what I did, join a club and practice. You will get coaching from qualified ATEO coaches and I have found that the members are happy to let you try their rifles. I have used a HW97 and a TX200 at my club, they are both excellent rifles. Try and get a good second hand example of either.
  18. Try Ronnie Sunshines in Berkhampsted, I've always found them to be very helpful.
  19. What bait did you use mate? Will be going out for corvids soon so I am trying to get as much advice beforehand. Thanks mate.
  20. Keep an eye on your local Aldi store. The thermals from there are very competatively priced and are good quality.
  21. Great start to the year new year. Best wishes for 2013. Russ.
