  1. give me a pm and tell us where you are and I'll point you in the right direction.
  2. For the past 6 yrs my lurcher has its regular jabs.We thought this year we would'nt bother.Would my dog not having a booster,be a threat disease wise to an 8 week old pup who obviously had no jabs yet. This might be a daft question but this is the 1st time we've not had a dog jabbed.Pup will have jabs at 10 weeks.
  3. A vixen defending her cubs is not the best type of fox as a 1st attempt.Plus you can only kill something once!
  4. As a short term arrangement the crate is fine. But once the baby gets on the move, you've got trouble.I've got 3 kids and i would'nt tolerate it.The risk is too great-the baby comes first. Personally I find bitches are far better with kids. You've got to listen to you're head not you're heart on this one!
  5. My lurcher is part irish terrier, only a 1/4.Puts some fire in him
  6. Never owned a Beddy, just doing research before I get one.More I know the less chance of buying a dud.Just because mum and dad work is one thing. But if the grandparents etc don't(show stuff)the parents maybe one off's,the pedigrees tell a tale.If theres too much cross-breeding in the pup in questions back ground then it may end up growing more like the outcrosses. If it does'nt look like a Beddy then I have'nt got one,I've got a lakeland or something. If I wanted a Lakie I'd go and buy one.Do you see what I'm getting at,in a round about way. From 1998 the written word on working Beddys drys up!
  7. Oxfordshirenot too far south.
  8. Swansea jack are they your dogs on the back of EDRD Jan 2007? Are any of the writers in working Bedlington Yearbook 1998 still active with Beddys?
  9. What is his bloodlines mate?Where did you get him?I could do with a bitch like that
  10. That one in cw costs £75
  11. I'll pop round in the next day or two and have a look at the tyke mate
  12. I read a back copy of CW with an article by John Glover. He wrote about his dog 'Rat pit Billy',which he stated that he used him on foxes. This was wrote 2001.Thats as much as I know.
  13. That was pointed at Newcombe.A chap called Fred Gent experimented with poodles, but they never worked out. This was all above board and known to all during the 1950's.I suppose mud sticks.Even though Boundens known as a show person he has always defended the working Beddy in countrymans weekly and the show paper Dog World.Thats going off the track. Can anyone tell me how the rillington lines or newer lines from rambo etc are continuing.Even better telling me about who the best breeders to look out for?I'm trying to get a better picture of the modern working Beddy,so I know what to look for in
  14. From what I read the Dandie Dinmont is its close cousin. And the local terrier at the time was the Rothbury terrier which was the starting point of the breed. There is a good history of the breed in Ken Boundens book.
  15. Read it mate.Very good but thats one mans opinion.I'm interested what others have to say! Also a more upto date view of the lines available now.
  16. Oxfordshire mate.So can anyone give us a brief overview of the different lines strengths and weaknesses as there is so little literiture about working Beddys.Or are there certain breeders we should be looking out for who have good reputations. If you don't ask questions you don't learn
  17. As beginners we sre looking for a Beddy to look like a typical Beddy with the ability. What I'm trying to get at is that various lines are more the working lines such as Gutchcommon. But with Mrs.Williamson dead and Roy Mee dead who is actually carrying on the lines and when someone describes their pups as Gutchcommon type for example how true can that be.This could be for any of the lines. As a beginner are there certain breeders we should look out for who keep actual records. Having read a little and found out about Rillington,Gutchcommon,Glovers,Toby and Graintor lines could someone tell me
  18. I'm hoping to get a Beddy this summer,so I'm researching as much as possible.Various breeders are quoting that there dogs are this line or that. How accurate are these as I assume there are'nt written pedigrees.Or the only true pedigree is that both parents are workers. Is there anybody out there breeding Beddy's in the midlands this summer?
  19. Harv whats the breeding of you're Beddy [bANNED TEXT]
