    Took a walk with the 7 month lurcher and the misses today Oldham way and come across some ferreters no dog two fellas and nets etc so thought id try and network so shouted over the fence(Im Not A Quiet Person So My Friends Say ) "shouted needa hand and have you caught many" no reply Shouted again "How you getting on" The young lad turns around gurns at me so I take my que and walk on! A) He didn't like my Army Jacket Didn't like women C) Despises Dogs i.e why they didn't have dogs them self D) Or Poachers E) Just Ignorant %&%^*^ Im stumped what you think! What

    In The Army We Had A Phrase To Answer This Problem Proper Planning and Preperation Prevents Piss Poor Performance Take that phrase as you want BUT the more prior planning and prep work the better!

    In reply to THE ONE, The area used to sustain a rabbit population but lanfill was thrown over the area for the rabbits by the gas board, Because of the way oldham is made up some areas are land locked by urban environments so its almost impossible for rabbits to move around certain areas!

    Ive found a few abandoned fox holes lol i wonder if that would do???? and i know there abandoned dont ask how The area where im thinking hasnt had rabbits since they chucked landfill in the area they used to live about 20 years ago according to my dad, but theres open fields forrest and pond etc sandy banks for burrows so thinking i might have a bash!

    livestock market brilliant idea! And yes im sure golfcourses would be good but is it worth the hastle lol Im worried about whether foxes would just come and eat them all up??? Are they going to know how to dig a hole to survive etc! Wild Rabbits sounds like an idea but i have no land to get them off lol!!! Cheers for replies guys!

    Lets say theoretically one was to buy some young rabbits from a pet shop and release them into an area of good cover plentifull grass would those rabbits survive? Does anyone know anyone who has done this before

    Failed miserably to find anywhere to go ferreting with my new pup! best hope i find somewhere over the summer before the next season! Seen it on here before but the hardest hunt really is finding permission! And where i live theres bob all lol

    So if its worked for you guys it should theoretically work for everyone as all councils should work as one! If this is the case to whom did you contact i.e land management department etc and to what way did you ask i.e email,phone call and how did you present your case?

    Longstory cut short walked around my country park earlier tandle hills if anyone knows it in oldham and thought bugger it 24 years walking this route and ive never been in that field, SO i did it hoped over the fence with my little lurcher puppy and went for a stroll! This field runs along the motorway so it was deserted no cattle etc had a brilliant time saw a few badger sets, foxes and a huge rabbit warren so thought i need permission around here its brilliant! so no longer had i been there 10 minutes and im walking back and POW man with a shotgun!
