  1. we should've had 5 but 2 lucky escaped with the skin of their teeth. However 3 and no injuries I'm happy with that. Good to know I wasn't the only one suffering last night. The wind was breathtaking. Literally haha
  2. plenty of Charlie's about my way that's about it. Anything else is a bonus
  3. We went out last night was perfect weather, very bad start 1st and 2nd run the dogs missed the target. I knew the farmer wouldn't be happy with that. However 3rd 4th and 5th slips the dogs nailed there target and that's 3 less killers for the farmer to worrie about. The chickens will sleep easy
  4. Weathers perfect out there, a lot of wind. Get my 2 experiacnced dogs out tonight do some damage hopefully. What's the weather like where you's are ? Up here in Scotland it's a dream
  5. I picked up a pup not long ago and my older dog (quite stubborn with dogs) hated him from the start. A little walk soon sorted that out Atb
  6. I recommend a collie greyhound (for rabbits anyway) for someone with little experience they're very well obedient giving the right nature, also with food, raw and dry
  7. Tracer 170 or 210 depending on the size of the ground and a lithium battery pack
  8. I have 2 working dogs, very experienced and a young pup. They will all be taking the same quarry (singlehanded)
  9. My big lad, just reaching 3 year old. Fantastic dogs
  10. Would like to know if anyone is running this exact cross.. And how they get on with this cross
  11. I ran one about 3 years ago. Has extremely quick (as you could imagine) left the lurchers sitting they couldn't get near it when it came to flat out running. However ran a rabbit..... And smashed a sandstone wall and broke its neck instantly. Was a shame too had a proper stock pit I was going to him over.
  12. Deerhound x greyhound. Fantastic all rounders.
  13. I thought the same until I ran down in England. Maybe it was that they were in abundance but I'm not sure. Trust me I wouldn't travel across the border for a few rabbits...... Haha
  14. Just a quick question to ask all of you's, no arguing. The trips I've had down South either lamping or daytime I have found that it seems easier down south. (It might just be me) any one who ran in both countries think otherwise ? I just think that the animals are took much easier ? Atb conran.
  15. Haha! He's great natured, but can go aswell
  16. He's a deerhound greyhound x saluki greyhound. And thanks pal
  17. thanks for clearing that up mate haha
  18. out a walk with my big lad today and he comes trotting back with this hen bird
  19. Remember, yapping is all about frustration. Entering them young can cause them to be dishearted and therefor yapp, make sure the dog seems confident, give it easy runs like squatters (if possible) I had a kelpie x few years back and it lacked in speed however had a great nose. Everytime it flushed and gave chace it would open up and sing Atb and good luck with your pup
  20. All dogs are different. My dogs were started around 1 year old and it has worked out fantastically. However some dogs may not have the confidence just yet
  21. Yeah mate you'll be fine. If I feed mine I'll usually wait 6/7 hours before I run them
  22. During the day I let the dogs beat about (in hope they flush something) works a treat. No matter where Iam I let them do their own thing. Still having control over them due to great recall. And lamping of course they'll be on slips
