  4. Cheers Tom waiting on a full new guide and top hat now cant wait to get bits back
  5. I put all my red in fridge tastes much better The hardys cabaret is nice had 1 last night :-)
  6. Never heard of them splitting stocks like but maybe possible I fit slings to every gun ive owned with no bother carnt beat a sling As Moxy said right size pilot hole wont over stress the wood and no need to use a beasty screw like some you see on eBay just a inch ish should be fine but know what you mean I once drilled my walnut Excalibur carbine stock with my teeth chattering :-)
  7. I love red wine normally get what ever is on offer with biggest reduction in price haha wouldn't bother with out under a fiver a bottle tastes like rat piss or what I imagine rat piss tastes like , My favorite is zenith wi lizard on bottle don't know what sort it is but blows your socks off normally wash a bottle down with 4 cans of tyski polish lager then the singing starts :-) great night
  8. Thanks mate Got someone I know With a laith making me up some delrin a guide and top hat so will transform it it feels harsh from the twang but not a lot of recoil at all dropping bits in tomorrow for him so should have them back in next couple of days get in!! Got to bloody strip it again now though argh out with the sash clamp
  9. Yea think there some logic in that just had a wander on perm hoping to christen it but no joy shoots really well though and groups nice once I sort the twang this will be a beauty glad I stuck with it
  10. Couldn't sit down for thinking I could get bit more power from her so stripped back down and .... That ll do me will probably go up slightly as spring beds in too, happier now that power is perfect power for me, very little recoil but obviously will sort the twang then job a good 1 been thinking about this bloody rifle in my sleep got so mad almost sacked it this morning lol
  11. As in title I'm after a thin tube of delrin to slot over a metal spring guide and take up the slack between guide and spring stop the twang its for a gas RAM to Springer project I'm doing so going to be a odd size any ideas anyone make them on here? Or can think of anything else ,cheers
  12. Been bit quiet last few days as been plodding on with this the hw80 spring was just not long enough so I picked up a titan xs number 14 today bit of pre load and got it sat nicely in the 10.5s now if it wasn't so hard to get the spring back in I would pre load little more but for now that will do, I need to get a thin delrin tube to slot over the spring guide to stop the twang and add a top hat washer but thats a job for another day It cocks nice and smooth very short to cocking too well impressed shoots OK bit twangy but very little recoil think a delrin tube will sort that all in all happy
  13. I use ptfe based silicone only a small amount like as grease can get a bit sticky after a while and lightest coat of Lt2 grease on spring works good , and fine Emory cloth to polish up :-)
  14. Still on with this its been tricky getting power up Even with the Fac rating spring its doing 2 ft lbs without preload got it up to 6.8 with some pre loads will keep at it Had to buy a sash clamp to put spring in each tie its been a bugger but will sort it Got cocking shoe done and sorted though IL put some pics of what I'm doing tomorrow :-)
  15. Yea I agree definitely don't use on foxes people say would drop them but not a humane kill in my opinion at all! My brother has a fac Rws excaliber it's a insane pice of kit think it's doing about 26 ft lbs I've said this on another thread but I dropped a hare at 98 yd stone dead was a shot of a lifetime and I guarantee that's not a tall story I'd get no pleasure from making story's up lol but just shows the insane power and accuracy a quality fac air rifle can achieve so there is a place for fac air imo but can still be viscous for ricochets so goes without saying use correctly and are affec
  16. Cheers mate Yea got a feeling I'm guna like this gun when done wish could test fire it and chrono it its doing my head in wondering what power is and how it shoots Anything over 10.5 il be happy with Will no doubt shoot nicer a tad under power too
  17. Try soaking it in nitromorse worked on a oil based stain that was on a shotgun I did everything reacted before but was fine after
  18. I've just bought one too I'm well impressed with it light and the build quality is unreal I'm in the middle of converting mine to spring power as was so hard to cock and very snappy something I've wanted to do for a while seems to be going well looking forward to testing it. But overall great gun I reckon if they made some spring guns they would still be going strong now
