  1. If you get the £120 you're asking for in ADTRADER for the terrier you just paid £30 for that should more than cover any transport costs so you're on a winner mate, you should have a new lurcher in no time
  2. you caught him by the short and curleys there bud..... My pleasure,it pisses me off when someone like that slags off honest working dogs..
  3. Seeing that the 2nd pic in Lablads post has been taken from google images, and belongs to the PTCA website i hope he hasn't broken any copyright laws and feel he might well be a BULLSHITTER
  4. Just bred a litter for my own use and sold a surplus pup for £100, to be honest i felt a bit guilty charging anything but don't think that was an unreasonable price to someone i didn't know.Personally i think that big money is the downfall of some breeds and it's sad to see whole litters being sold for silly prices,i think the fell types are becoming too popular with the show/pet brigade and it won't be too long before working fell/lakie/patterdales will be in a minority to the pet/show type same as russells, borders and bedlingtons...jmo
  5. Lonedigga, this is why i stated in the original add that "in the right hands" these pups will make excellent allrounders, Both sire and dam are laid back dogs and are only switched on when the need arises, The Dam has won Quite a few Obedience competitions, one being Chatsworth novice 2006, So not your typical point and shoot lurchers, But strong, fast, good nose, and inteligent. Yis Mars... Sorry if my post came across as critical Mars, it certainly wasn't meant that way its a cross i'd have again IF i had the work for it. The parents are crackers and the b&t bitch pup catches
  6. I bred a litter a few years ago out of a wheaten/grey bitch by a/bull grey dog, the bitches turned out a bit special but all the dogs ended up being pts as none could be trusted around stock, imo its a cross that NEEDS a lot of work but will take everything you throw at them,1 bitch pup i sold was returned sometime later with the comment 'she's overkill you don't need anything that mad for foxes' unfortunately i passed her on as i still owned her mother and didn't have the work for 2 but heard she went on to work well so i think that if you've got the work to give them you wont go far wrong wi
  7. I'm not a big fan of russells, but i've had some good sport with her and think that she's a perfect example to those that think that good dogs don't get marked up,i'd regard her as a yapper but any dog thats seen a bit of work is bound to get nipped along the way
  8. Am currently looking after my mates Russell bitch 16 yrs old, having dug to her many times, though not a world beater thought she'd earned a mention..
  9. I had a border collie/greyhound off hancock in 1989,by Rufus and to be honest i'd be happy to feed him now, despite having owned a couple of wheaten xs since and currently own a 1st x bull greyhound which wouldn't come near him if they were worked side by side. Having said that i don't think i'd have another 1 as i've seen a few that could only be described as a bit strange temperament wise, though that could be down to a lack of socialising as opposed to breeding.
  10. pups from putting my old red dog over his daughter lol got what i wanted and rest are taken...
  11. LOCK STOCK? (vinnie jones)
  12. nice pup ,but isn't 5 weeks a bit young...
  13. He didn't have much choice as i know his parents, and the vet won't be paid out of my money,He did seem genuinely sorry but he will pay one way or another as he shouldn't have been where he was with a bike and it could have been my boy he hit.
  14. It started off o.k with me,my boy and the lurcher doing a few miles along the local canal towpath on bikes (the lurcher was on foot) . On the the home stretch i heard a motorbike and realized it was on the towpath so called the dog to me.Too late, next thing the dog is airborne but hits the ground running and can't be found.Searched all evening and came home about 11pm, Fed the terriers and met the lurcher coming up the path but with a flap of skin hanging from her back leg sorted now but by my reckoning as she was soaking wet when she got home, she's crossed a big river and a busy dual carr
  15. Cracking box but it might be worth changing the mesh to 1" so the terriers can't get get a hold and spoil a good job

  18. Best of luck with the op mate, don't worry they know what theyre doing. One thing though, forget about 6 weeksunless you're lucky,I broke my leg in february and it's still not healed properly 16 weeks later, so rest it up as much as poss and above all don't think you know better than the doctor
