Depends on what you call 100% i suppose,I've had a few decent dogs over the years and a couple that i've been confident that when they went to ground that the quarry was in the bag,but even these failed to get a result at some point in their careers.IF A 100% earthdog is one that's NEVER failed then i've not had one yet and haven't seen one either.Theres too many variables in this game to use the term 100% freely.
Sounds like it's not afraid of the dark,It's afraid of what's in the dark Give her a break and try her again but it doesn't always work out i'm afraid..
The holes are close enough together that it can be tightened around the thinner part of the shaft just above the blade.I've used a leather one of these for years and wouldn't be without one...
Why is it that any white on a patterdale is put down to russell blood?Nobody seems to deny that there's bull in most of todays black dogs.Is this not just as likely to account for the "WhitePatts"Look at the colours,Either pied or white chests/toes/legs.Plenty of bulls about with that colouring .When you look at the "White Lakelands" it's a different matter Often all white or at least Predominantly white and the russell influence in them is well documented..JMHO
Yes mate all 3 are one and a half inches,Ideally the middle buckle would have a few inches adjustment either way to alter the overall length and the brighter the colour the better so's not to lose it when it's off the shovel, speak to you soon LD
A few pics of what we talked about,Overall length is 54inches,ends are 8 inches from buckle to tip and it's 1 1/2 inches wide,Couldn't send them via pm for some reason.Let me know when you see this and i'll phone you,Cheers mate LD
Things have been a bit quiet so far this season between work and a few blank days, but managed to get out sunday to what is usually a good bet once the cover is down, the place looked well used when i got there so dropped my b&t dog Doug in and waited a while as this is a fairly big spot(no more than 5ft deep but about 100m from top to bottom holes)After a bit of a runaround he settled at 0.8 and i broke in to him soon after well in control of the situation Doug was lifted and the .410 did its bit..As it looked so well run i then tried the red dog Bill who eventually found at the bottom end
Nice pup,I've always liked the Wheatens and hope it does well for you Sidetracking a bit i know but does anybody remember a fella who used to write in EDRD (i think) About Wheatens,Wrote articles as 'Springview' Just wondered if he was still around...
{there seems to be alot of difference from the old debens than the new deben lrt.} I hope you're right but i've had the B&f for afew seasons now and would have probably gone through a couple of mk1 boxes and maybe half a dozen collars in that time.So for me the initial extra cost is well worth it..
{so why the bellman and flitn and not the new deben longe range?? } Reliability,Though Deben lost my custom forever when i bought a mk2 set off them which was RUBBISH and ended up in the bin where it belonged..
