Ha not giving anything away then Ratattack, ive tried alsorts of baits and fished plenty of waters i know of big pike but it just hasnt happend for me yet, hopefully this colder weather might help!

Ha close again, it was 31lb bang on pal, we were like kids at xmas when he landed it and it was suprisingly calm while he unhooked it, the jacks we caught went mental while unhooking!

Hows everyone getting on with the pike this year so far? Mine has been abit slow to start with, only been catching a few jacks, nothing to shout about and ive had plenty of blanked sessions! But this weekends trip resulted in my mate catching the biggest pike ive ever seen! Seeing a fish this size makes all the blanking sessions worth it even if i didnt catch the fish myself! Anyone like to guess the weight? We pulled this out of its mouth while we was unhooking it! Some sort of bird, i presumme it was dead before the pike munched on it! The day finished with two J

Got the website up, looking on ebay while both fighters came into the ring, click back on the website,fight finished. Glad i never paid to watch it.

This little cracker overstreched my elastic in my pole today, it has gone from a dark blue colour to a very light blue, so it obviously needs replacing but i never relised picking a new elastic would be so hard, theres so many different types. All i want is one that can handle decent size carp,tench,barbel but also land the less agressive fighting fish e.g bream roach etc.

Well we braved the weather today and went out on my second fishing outing of the year and wow it was COLD Went to a place called Manor in Garstang with my mate and his Dad, this was the first time i was going to be using my pole so i was pretty excited. Set off about 6:20am and arrived at the pond at about 7am. There are 3 ponds here, number one is the match one so we had the choice of number 2 or 3 so we decided with 3 as we always seem to go on two. Was out ferreting when i was about 15, put ferret down hole, sat waiting, noticed to dogs staring at a squeeking brick Never heard a brick squeek before so my mate walks over and moves the brick and out flies a rabbit ferret attached to its arse, mate then grips the rabbit only for it to sink its teeth right into his hand. Hes swinging this rabbit round with a ferret on its arse while we are rollling round with laughter -

See my gran every week, i USED to be the favourite out of me my brother and my cousins, but since my daughter came along she now gets all the attention! Just a tad jealous haha

Ahh i see, ive never tried for Pike in the summer, but if thats the case i might give it a miss, im guessing this is the reason why we pike fish in the winter? Ive always fished for pike in the winter and never knew why.

Went on my first night fishing trip this Saturday just gone, just me and a mate and a shed loads of gear, which to be honest 3/4 of it wasnt even fishing tackle! Got to the water at about 4.30pm and because we arent allowed to park on the farm, we had to lug all the gear up the long road up to the resevoir and with all the gear we had brought, it felt like we were never going to get there, who needs the gym! Only fished for Trout once, this was when i was a little younger, on a place where we shouldnt have been Never seen a fish jump out the water like it that day, was a brilliant day, ended up with about 12 Trout and this was the biggest but the others werent far behind!
