  1. Sure with the roads now you can travel the length off the country in no time. I was in Waterford last weekend in just over 4.5 hours and we weren't in any hurry. Nice drive to be honest, makes life a lot easier lads can meet up from wherever and share days out together. Isn't that what it's all about at the end of the day. Atb
  2. Cheers, he's all go. Will take very little to bring him on more effort holding him back. I'm sure your mate will have something to say in response to that haha. Atb.
  3. Is he one of the pups you got of that hoor who's unfortunately a friend of mine ???????????LOL Yes that's my pup Neil. I gave my mate the other one, he's smooth coated. Hard to get pics of them they won't still long enough. Was very warm that day and they where all punctured just got that pic taken and no more.
  4. Pup 10 months old the other day.
  5. That would be him alright, in saying that think we're all itching to get at it again mate.
  6. would that be on lamp as well General?Lamping digging and beating cover with hounds to the lurchers.
  7. There's a hunting man in the North who with his small pack of hounds and lurchers accounts for 3 or 4 hundred foxes each season and if I remember correctly I think he told me a few years back that he had 30 out of roofs one year. assuming he would he have guns with him too Neil? I haven't hunted with them for a few years but always thought they had a gun or two out for those corners not suitable for a lurcher.Must be different men these lads I know don't like lads shooting them.
  8. That big dog made short work off them, long time ago now. A hound lurcher and a terrier, every walk was different but interesting.
  9. Fella I know had 50 odd with one lurcher in a season can't mind the exact amount.

The person I'm thinking is the one I was out with doing roofs, no, all with dogs not a gun in sight. Them lads kill 300+ a season.
  11. Not many places about me that you could work bales compared to other folk, but we've put them out of roofs of old houses on a regular basis over the years. They hold at certain times depending on weather conditions and temperature. I mind standing with my back to the wall of an old stone cottage, I was in my late teens with my 7/8s grey 1/8th bedlington I had at the time, wondering what I was to expect. Window to the right of me another to the left. Waiting on a fox jump out of the window, usually they don't but it's not uncommon, I wasn't to know. A terrier was put into the roof from the rear
  12. Yes and while I'm at it I'll tell you the reason for that, they're not on here for one very simple reason. They are deceased and some of them are family members and close friends family members so if I decide to share something that happened 50/60+ years ago i will.
  13. That's true BK. The problem is you can't flog a dead horse. This forum is a complete disaster for working dog men. Most would rather believe lies and bicker among each other. So tell them what they believe and want to believe and hopefully everyone will be left alone to do their bit in peace and quiet.Nothing to do with this thread or anything attached to it, may I add. I've spoken out on first hand knowledge at times on both these terrier boards, discussion and write ups, putting the record straight about certain terriers that I've seen work in the flesh. Only to look back over threads an
  14. I was always told never trust a Tyrone man ?
  15. There's 2 camps within a mile of me but I haven't had any bother other than that. Thing is they're not the only dog thieves about doggie men steal dogs and doggie men buy stolen dogs there lies the problem because there's a market for them. That Coalisland is full off them, I wouldn't trust many of the locals either never mind the tinkers lol.
  16. Went home and the missus asked where I was, I told her. She said your mad they could have gave you a kicking, I said I know but I don't care. If that's what has to be done well then.
  17. Fella knocked on my door a while back asking me did I have any scrap metal I wanted rid off. I told him to get the fk. Few days later another one came looking to know did I want the pvc cleaned. I asked him was he fking blind as I'd just done mine and the next door neighbours pvc. So I told him to get the fk as well. Went in and sat down and thought about it. So I couldn't help myself. Drove over to the gypsy camp got out and they all stood looking at me. I said where's the boss man. Went over to his caravan and told him where I lived and the crack and if anything went missing I'd have the pla

  19. Looking forward to this show and meeting up with the all the lads.
  20. In America the reason game cocks are euthanized is because they were going to be killed by being pierced with sharp spurs if they were used in cockfighting.Fair enough. The humane society kill them by giving them a lethal injection into the breast. The game cock dies peacefully. FFS DD educate yourself man. In some counties owners make a living from keeping ,breeding & fighting their birds ,these people & their birds are looked upon with pride ,who are we to judge in the above case the birds ended up dead anyway. All over the world animals and birds are chased and hunted ,eg rab
  21. Yes your wright Miga but when your with the right lads no money changes hands some lads are just keeping the breed going as there is not to many leftWho's name ?
  22. they ain't kid killers, their just dog killers I wouldn't trust a wheaten around a child, unless in the last few years they've changed.i wouldn't trust any breed with a small child but I've seen wheatens and there crosses that were excellent with kids. I know there is human aggressive ones maybe that's just the particular lines they came from with that trait but that type to me is an accident waiting to happen and those dogs should be culled regardless of ability. Gates will be left open accidentally from time to time and even one child's life would be too much to lose for all the wheatens
  23. Nice dog general, what his bloodline? That's a mc intyre bred dog. Mate had 2 of them at a show a few weeks back that's a pic he took
  24. One of the last well bred. They're a dying breed unfortunately.
