HOW MANY KILLS IN A LIFETIME
Richard Morgan replied to keepitcovert's topic in Lurchers & Running Dogs
How long a "course" do you expect to see on a rabbit ? Cheers. dog got one this morning over about 30 yards ive seen some good runs on the lamp especially maybe 10-12 turns a few off the dyke. yeh but those type of runs on rabbits are the exception though surely. true but thats the reward for me -

the lad i got my pup off said the bitch had 68 that season i would say if your out at least once a week youve a good chance of getting to the 100 mark how many do you need its not a competition for me its the course id rather catch a rabbit on a good run than go out and get ten sitters. -

spend as much time with the dog playing about fetch and such if youve had the dog from a pup sounds like a trust thing the dog must know whos boss but must also be able to trust its handler try and be deliberate with the dog and steady it will come with time atb.

its ok to say tough shit its your opinion but when its a load of old cobblers 150 hounds you really are showing your naevity and ignorence of the facts.yes you are entitled to your opinion but try and keep to a realistic opinion .99%of antis veiws are based on what other people have said not what they have seen for themselves . point taken sorry for shi***g on your thread atb.

Too late fella. The Saluki x Fox statement did it for you. Best change your user name if you EVER want to be taken even half-seriously on here. Cheers, D. i wont be drawn into an arguement with you anyone is a big man sat behind a computer i retracted my comment if you cant accept that ok.

ok ill eat humble pie i apologise for my previous statement i spoke out of term!

Yes it would, if we win the repeal the whole thing is disposed of and sent to the history books allowing coursing, staghunting, minkhunting etc etc to all resume exactly as it was before the act they can not change it! Seriously? you actually believe that we go out with seventy five couple of hounds just to tear a fox to bits? You've quite obviously not got the first clue about foxhunting and are going on the information the antis and the media feed to the public. I'm not even going to try to explain to you how a pack of hounds works but they are not there to "tear a fox to bits"

i havent been on a hunt but know people who have and its a fact that a hell of alot of dogs are used for the job fact!born hunter which part was shite?the fact is weather it be 50,75,150 dogs this kind of sport isnt a sport one dog yes 50-150 no people have different opinions and this is mine if you dont like it mate then tough shite as you say!!

in a moneyed culture catering to the toffs the ban was originally fetched in against fox hunting in large numbers which is say 100-150 hounds tearing one to bits which isnt sporting in my opinion if a dog cant take it one on one then leave it abee but as far as the ban goes theirs no chance it will be repealed in a country and indeed a (uk) that is a complete shambles men/women of a bye gone era would literally turn over in their graves if they could see it now the ban is here to stay but life goes on.

Collie brains better than speed
Richard Morgan replied to Dranny GLC's topic in Lurchers & Running Dogs
i own a whippet cross but i personally feel the greyhound route is the way forward for me in the future if mine proves to be a decent dog he will cover a decent colliex to give him abit of brain however looking on and back now i feel the greyhoundx is a more complete lurcher, hes a smart dog mate.
