  1. I know bgd, the dog I was on about was found a week ago in durham and because they coulsnt find the owner in a week they have rehomed it ratherthan look properly. Problem is these fur mommies spend money so people like 'the sogs butcher' delete people who try and inform/educate them as its bad for business when people tell them their little baby wasnt pulled apart by pitbulls by actually probably ran into a hedge.
  2. I can appreciate that gnasher but of course if you cross two soecies you can exoect certain things, look at lurchers. We can tell the cross quite often based on looks and know roughly how they'll behave and work because of their parenting. We can even cross these breeds and get a good idea of how they will come out and what traits/ characteristics they will have. Surely the best characteristics from two different breeds is the definition of hybrid vigour?
  3. Have been on a group on f/b for several years thats local and specialises in 'working' dog food, one of the members recently adopted a bull/grey. The dog has a few acars on its face which they stated they thought were from dog fighting. After stating the marks look like scars from barb wire and brambles I got removed from the group for advocating dog fighting, I messaged the admin but no reasoning as a working dog shouldn't get any scars. Ffs what can we do!
  4. I've found love. She's sat beside me nursing our daughter and I couldn't be happier
  5. Ok tombstone bolio was a poor choice but what I mean is how can you expect hybrid vigour from a family bred dog to a scatter bred dog? Is it really hybrid vigour if they're both the same breed? They may be different families but they are still all apbt. Hybrid vigour works in things like bull/grey because it combines attributes like strength and speed, jaw power and prey drive but does it do the same with a cross of two families or just magnify/improve the traits already there?
  6. After a domestic comes make up sex ... recon snappeers the taker
  7. We built a bonfire around a wheelie bin full of cans one year as kids, went up with a mental bang. Made the local rag as if we were terrorists.
  8. Cheers giro, had found the right page. Was looking at the rules and it says about being both a member of awl and CA, why are they separate?
  9. Dont forget beddy/whippets aswell dotty. maybe rather than wolves they could just release beddyx pups into the wild, few generations and wolves would look domesticated
  10. Tomo I think alot of the problem is because they have been around for 20 years they don't want someone else to achieve something they couldnt and get recognition
  11. Meduck there is a wealth of knowledge on here for you to take advantage off
  12. I think rather than ages its better to start at a time of year, get green dogs on green rabbits. Whether the dog is 10mnths or 18 mnths I think August/September
  13. If she's five months now I'd save her to start next august/September time personally
  14. Always been the problem with fieldsports, arguing amongst ourselves about things as if we dont agree with hunting almost and the problem is we as lurcher owners have the problem not only with others but each other. Shooters dislike 'their' deer being taken by lurchers, fox hunters dont like lurchers taking foxes, gamekeepers dis like us and then we have daywalkers not wanting us touching their hares.
  15. Would that really be hybrid vigour? I thought if you done a straight cross it was so? Also would it not work better if you wanted a tombstone based dog that you out each one to something that was also tight? Each on that pedigree (4th gen ) barring one I think was a tombstone to a random dog/family, would it not improve your chances if they had been to a tight dog so it would perhaps read like tombstone/bolio, T/jeep, T/jocko etc. (As an example ) ?
  16. Funny though aint it because something with abit if gaurding training/ instinct woukd make more sense navek. If I was doing risky things id want a malinois or doberman with enough bite training that he woukd help out in certain situations
