    That could be said about a lot of (names) stevens had to start somewhere so you could say without Gould/Stacy stuff he would not have bred what he did But that applies to everybody whos ever bred a dog surely .If an animal has been added to ,combined with something else and now breeds true, is fit for purpose then the breeder deserves recognition . Yes i suppose it does apply. In fairness He chose well when using a nuttall and brightmore outcross.

    He never called it his 'line' as such. He had a job to do and needed tools for the job and made them himself.And as the saying goes 'The rest is history !' I personally think the man was way ahead of his times as far as breeding terriers went. In what way?

    know a lad had pair for hunting/digging - they had the frilly bit over laces like golf shoes swore by them - had them good few seasons eventually got another pair nowhere near as good he reckoned the original ones were kangaroo leather and then newer ones were not and therefore not as good

    Both brains and brawn, each dog is different in they're own way, I suppose you will never get two the same. had a bitch that didn't like other dogs, this one doesn't like strange people very much and my other two halfx are sound, if another dog shows any aggression what so ever to either of them they won't hesitate, (Ticking time bombs) when out with others who have aggressive dogs.
