Wrong sorry. The dog should be put down for showing enough aggression to actually kill another one of your dogs, You can`t pretend to justify this by saying the dog was jelous of your attention. Yes it`s your fault, but not because you showed too much attention to the saluki, but the fact you allowed an aggressive dog to be kept as a pet in a situation that allowed iit to kill the Saluki. Please don`t think I`m digging at you here, I`m not, I`m just stating it as I see it. I feel sorry for you having this happen, but you now seem to be saying that you want to keep the Rottweiler, o

didnt get them as guard dogs got em as pets before i got into hunting but make dam good guard dogs, as for chains ect.. depends where you live, where i live you could drive a truck through the gates if you wanted and no one would hear a ting as no neighbours for a mile or so

thanks every1 for the advice ect.. just one ting to say, i av the rotts 3years and have kept other dogs also for nearly two of them years its not that she is an aggressive dog towards other dogs actually the total opposite. in my opnion it was an attack of jeasouly as i had been spending alot of time trying to bond with the saluki and not enough time with her not condoning her actions only trying to say theres a reason everything happens. so her is my question why should she be put down for MY MISTAKES!!!

here mate my rottweilers mean just as much to me as my hunting dogs, dogs will fight at times, he got out of his pen not like i leave them roaming around together. The only stupid situation i putting myself into was not having the pens 100%. A dog is a dog at the end of the day lad wheather a working dog or not!!

I know it is thats the worst part i know its my fault but as u say ive learnt a big lesson. Going to get rid of two of the rotts and keep as guard dog ive being thinking about doing it for a while but couldnt bring myself to do it as i av 2many pet dogs and cant keep the working dogs i want because of space so this has really settled my decision there going as hard and all as its going to be to part with them it has to be done!

Arrived home today after being away for the night to find my new saluki had broken out of his pen and had being killed by my rottweiler absolutly gutted cant believe my bad luck at times, he was just starting to trust me and listen to me and was showing great potential. R.I.P Casper
