    did you win ? Was beany a good dog ? Did you see beany run a few times or just when you matched him ? I've always wanted to know more about this dog because I like the joe stuff but never herd much about his father beany, any info or pics would be great, cheersseal won he got straight lined on all 3 the sisters to him could kill hares for fun joe was a very good dog him self straight lined on all 3, I thought he would of been a very fast dog being straight out of a racing greyhound, I thought that's were joe got his speed from, perhaps it skipped a generation

    personally they are the runs I most like to watch a proper hare a proper dog stand back and watch a real war between them, it sickens me when I've been out all day looking to watch a good course and you put a hare up and it gets caught in 2 bends, after all I love watching coursing so I would rather watch a 5 min course than a 20 second one, that's why I keep slow dogs hahaha

    A top notch hare will take bout 5 mins to be caught I don't care if its the best fast killing dog in the country if it drops on the right hare it will take that long and if it can't stay that long it won't catch it, and a dog that can't kill a top notcher can't be considered to be top class, also I think you have got to know the dog to know how good the hare is because if you see a 5 min run with a dog you don't know you can't assume it was a very good hare because the dog mite be crap and a different dog mite of done it in 2 or 3 mins, like I say got to know the dog to know the hare

    Skycat, try and get hold of the DVD called fen fever 2, the 11 min run is on there with a dog called rosco, think the dog only stayed that long caus all he did was follow the hare round about 10 to 20 yards behind it most of the time and never put it under real pressure

    or at least a re match best of 3, 3 times there is no dispute then Yeah, great , in an ideal world . The reality is its difficult enough to get one match off . What with keeping both dogs sound for a particular day , the weather , the farmers , the old bill or what for whatever other reasons which may crop up ! It's not that simple and it rarely runs smooth from the day the match is made to actually getting on the field . yea I'm just saying which ever dog wins a one off match doesn't mean it's the best dog necessarily

    It's always a bit of luck who will win a one off match, I've always thought the best way to find out the best between 2 dogs is to do best of 3 on 3 different occasions and see who wins the most matches, then you really know which is the most consistent
