  2. So long as hes ok, thats the MANE thing.
  3. Ahh the contour, not the full length concept. I like Brococks choice of woodwork.
  4. Skin em, keep the pelts in the freezer ready for tanning on those crappy days when you can't go out. Dog trainers will buy them.
  5. Saved yourself some dosh on dog food, but you've lost out on some rabbit fur. £10 each they sell for on eBay last I checked!
  6. Brocock appear to have done well with the contour and the concept super sixes. The little contour is an impressive little lightweight carbine, but that concept looks absolutely superb, not only that beautiful grain in the woodwork but the thumbhole design overall. Looks like you've got yourself a great rifle!
  7. Spoke to a chap yesterday who has a 78 on 'approval' and considering purchasing it. After talking over my experience of the 79 and research into the 78 and PCP conversion, it turns out he has the necessary contacts and expertise to turn out 'Salty' tubes. Salty is a member of the chinese forum who was selling a suitable pressure rated cylinder with the appropriate valving to turn essentially turn a 78 into an s400. Something similar to this But better. I don't have concrete prices yet, but get in touch and if I can pitch enough potential sales, it may be a viable option.
  8. I cannot second moles chrono advice strongly enough. It may have been unique and a one off event, but i feared for my own safety when two shots of my hpa converted 79 registered 40ftlbs on my combro. Thankfully the rest of the string dropped to 11.9 but it didn't take long to creep over to 13. Please please please do not dismiss it. I believe a gun owner without a chrono is asking for trouble like a driver without a speedometer.
  9. Personally, I would whip that spring out ASAP, speak to chambers and get an oem spring in there. Sacrilege to put any other in such a legendary rifle.
  10. Let us know how she gets on, very intriguing rifles that i think look better with timber.
  11. That said andy, i still baulk at these kids who 'pimp' saxos etc.
  12. Its more about the journey than the destination.
  13. I resent the fact that rifles costing 4-5 times the price require tuning. Which, one could argue, betrays how idealistic and possible naive I am.
  14. Oops, that's rather a large mistake to make. I stand rightly and very much corrected!
  15. Superb accuracy. Some claim to have matched AA S400/10's! One chap in the states claims to have won a ft comp with his custom 78.
  16. Take a camera so you can show off what you get and tell us all about it! Well done on securing a permission, go out of your way to ensure you keep it I.e make yourself indispensable by being the landowners eyes and ears. Offering a share of your edible kills... Happy hunting!
  17. They're finally importing the target stock version too I believe. I picked my xs79 up for £99 brand new.
  18. They fit in ags pcr1 stocks with some slight modification i read. Great project, lots to learn and tinker with. No experience of the TRR Rob kit. My XS79 responded most favourably to a welsh willy seal kit. I polished the trigger, hammer, bolt etc and with the hpa tank I had a superbly accurate pcp!
  19. Been there, done that. For a lower cost pcp, the latest Webley Raider 10XS is certainly a great bit of kit, but for the independence, simplicity and durability a quality spring rifle (such as the Air Arms and HW's mentioned) offers, the Raider and other PCP's fall way short in my experience. Unfortunately for PCP, springers have had a sizeable head start, and very much doubt we will hear of PCP's being handed down father (even grand father!) to son and still doing the job like we so often hear regarding HW's and proper old British BSA's and Webleys. That fact alone speaks volumes to me
  20. Always nice to be nosey and see how and what others are doing. Thanks for posting.
