    I've owned Hawke's (Sport HDs - Panorama EV), Nikko Sterling's, Simmons, SMK and what turned out to be a knock off Bushnell. The only scope I had real issues with was an old second hand Simmons which was probably abused and slapped on the rifle it came with. As always though, be prepared to pay for quality and buy the best you can afford.

Though when I get my private rifle range, put in some intensive paper punching, bankrupt myself buying overpriced lead, and develop a severely enlarged cocking arm, I can't promise I won't make you pay!     The mention of you and Davy wasn't intended as a dig, though I think I can understand why you may feel that way. The spirit is light hearted, intended to be an exercise of self 'criticism'. I used you two as I don't know of any other pair of known chums. Very well known chums I might add. The rest of what you say is rather a shame. Apologies Si, what was written wasn't meant to be taken personally nor did I think it in anyway insulting, I harbour no such ill will. I like you! I will certainly avoid mentioning you (perhaps not Davy!lol) in future. I do hope you have a good Christmas.

    Being as I've been left with more time on my hands than I know what to do with, I thought I'd test out some of these mod cons I'm surrounded by and 'email' Santa both mine and my buddy Mawders' Christmas list. Just received a very prompt reply from the 'Northern Hemisphere Regional Distribution, Request Services and Management' Elf, Gottleib Laplander. It reads; "You're getting f**k all until you man up, face reality, ditch the toys and do some proper hard graft.     My partners elderly and disabled father has decided he'd like to get into some back yard plinking. Says he'd prefer not to spend more than £100. An Alecto or HW75 maybe pushing it but that's the sort of thing I think would be best for him. Thanks chaps

    That's exactly it robwelsh, its like a photo when you fiddle with the hue and saturation, its got this very pale white overtone which makes it unsuitable unless you have some of the white stuff in the ground. I reckon it'd be great for those climates. In fairness, the fault was probably mine in choosing the evolution over the dark fusion pattern, the manufacturer does say light woodland, not dark. And there's the value of a review!
