  1. Another design completed by my son....I can't get near the grinder now-a days. One for the kitchen in 1095, very thin ground, will make a great slicer. Meranti scales. He also makes solid wood chopping boards one can be seen in the background of some of the pics. 2. Yes that is a problem with a basic wooden Opinel. The antler handles i make don't swell, also i put is self lubricating phosphor bronze contact plates so they stay tight with no play but smooth operating.
  3. Nice one. Good to see others having a go at making.
  4. Recently made this for a returning customer. He wanted an Opinel with antler handle as close to the original shape as possible. It is a No9 Stainless Inox blade. 8. Superb appearance and finish as usual.
  9. My lad recently did a bit of wild back-packing/camping and wanted a light but useful hatchet to carry in his pack. He ground the shape out an old axe head and made the handle from ash. Very Vikingesk in appearance. 11. Nice looking knife. What blade steel is it?
  12. Nice job! Not familiar with 1.2442 tungsten steel so did a quick google. LINK Sounds like a good tough blade steel.
