  1. Elephant hawk moth (Deilephila elpeno) to be exact, one of the nicest looking species we get IMO
  2. Finding Kimbo – Bully Watch BULLYWATCH.LINK At Bully Watch, we began delving into the pedigrees—essentially, the family trees—of dogs from the most... This is really interesting long read on how a huge majority of the foundation stock of XL bullys in the UK are heavily bred on an unstable dog called Kimbo. Breeders in the US are well aware that this line throws manbiters and generally breed away from it these days but the UK breeders don't seem to know or care.
  3. Couldn't agree with you more regards the DDA pal it nipped it in the bud at the right time before there was a load of genuine dogs in the hands of Joe Public and the real lads just cracked on under the radar as it had always been. The difference this time around is we're absolutely flooded with these XL bullys already, enforcement is going to be a huge job.
  4. Like I was saying in reality there's no way they can write legislation that bans XL bullys without other large bull breeds getting caught up in it. It'll be like the whole "pit type" thing and depending on how heavily it's actually enforced could be the end of large bull breeds in the UK.
  5. As with most things in this country it's a problem of enforcement not legislation. The laws are on the books to deal with the issues of irresponsible breeders and dickheads with out of control dogs off lead in public etc but they're not enforced.
  6. Get rid of the bull breeds and the dickheads will just move on to kangals and ovcharkas etc it's already happening in some areas. Probably end up with any dog that won't fit in a handbag banned by next year
  7. Genuinely can't see how you'd write legislation that bans XL bullys without basically banning every bull or mastiff breed over a certain size. Going to be an absolute shit show.
  8. XL bully breed to be banned in UK after spate of attacks - just hours after man savaged to death WWW.LBC.CO.UK The dangerous XL bully breed of dogs will be banned in the UK. It's going to be really interesting to see how they define an XL Bully without also banning a load of other breeds like American Bulldogs, Bullmastiffs etc etc
  9. Aye being more rural we were lucky to have the space and privacy to use chainspots for all our grown dogs, always hated working with dogs in pens on pals yards it's awkward even with the well behaved dogs and if things go left it can get really emotional as you know Exactly the same as you all the real bad dogs I've been around have been those big black b*****ds, had them from a couple of different lines too it's like they're some kind of throwback or something
  10. Exactly that pal these dogs were kept on chains in secure yards and only ever around grown men who knew what they were about and exercised at night away from the public not running round off lead in a park full of kids and dog walkers!
  11. Honestly I'm sure you could put manners on some of the dogs like that if you tried but a lot of them really are just wired up wrong and it's just a case of either working around their issues or putting a bullet in them if you don't think it's worth the hassle no amount of training would make them truly safe to be around. I wouldn't tolerate it any dog these days TBH but that's mostly because I'm too old and slow to deal with it now back then it was just considered to be part of keeping them really.
  12. Oh definitely in terms of day to day handling the unpredictable ones are way more of a headache. I had this big black bitch years ago that would bounce about on her chain wagging her tail looking happy to see you but if you actually reached out to give her a pat it was 50/50 whether she'd turn into a Tasmanian devil the second your hand made contact with her or not, gave us some good laughs when unsuspecting lads would get lured in by her was like a switch would just go off and for the rest of the day she'd be going mental. Was generally fine once you were actually working with her but you ha
  13. Nothing quite like that look a real man eater gives you when they're fired up and decide it's you that's going to get it today, makes your blood run cold. I've been around big cats and wolves and other wild predators but the energy just doesn't come to close.
  14. I see this young woman around with one of those ovcharkas, it's head comes up to her tits and it's constantly ragging on the lead and generally looking like an out of control beast Accident waiting to happen
  15. One of the causes of the problems with these bullys is that stupid "deed not breed, no bad dogs just bad owners" shit IMO. Fecking fur mummies and their "pibbles" have got a lot to answer for. We didn't have these problems when the only people who had dogs like this were folk who knew what they had and what they're capable of.
  16. Don't think I've ever seen a darkie with a bully TBH, mostly chavvy white council estate types with them round my way at least.
  17. Honestly just actually enforcing current laws around keeping dogs on leads and going after the breeders using existing legislation would go a long way to solving the problem.
  18. Can you imagine the scenes on the news of police raids to seize beloved family pets etc? Will be an absolute shit show. When the pit bull ban came in there really weren't many around and even less being kept as family pets, this will be totally different. I also don't really see how you'd write legislation to ban xl bullys that doesn't just blanket ban any bull blooded dog over a certain size
  19. Yep the problem is the explosion in the population of these dogs caused by the mental money they were fetching. These dogs need a certain type of owner and home but the average owner now seems to be someone who jumped on the latest fashion after frenchies got a bit boring who doesn't bother training it and just turns it out in their postage stamp of a back yard for exercise
  20. Honestly watching that video I kept waiting for someone to fecking grab the thing and get it under control, it wasn't even going that hard really someone who knew what they were doing could have easily got it under control.
  21. Said for a long time one of the biggest problems with dogs in this country is the fact people haven't got the heart to cull wronguns and unwanted pups anymore. A bullet in the head is much kinder than shoving a dog onto the merry-go-round of rehoming.
  22. Yep folk jumped on breeding them when they saw the money they were fetching and now the bottom has fallen out of the market and there's 1000s of them getting passed round from inappropriate home to inappropriate home. Sad state of affairs all round really. Honestly I don't know the answer but we've tried bans before and I'd say there's probably more pit bulls in the country now than there ever was before the ban.
  23. Thoughts? Honestly something needs to be done but we all know how ineffective breed bans are and I wonder what other breeds/types will end up getting caught up in any ban that covers them.
  24. Have you spoken to her about getting another dog pal? My ma reckons she'll take in an elderly rescue when her Bullseye passes, doesn't want to get a puppy and worry about leaving it behind. Might be something to think about if she starts feeling the house is too quiet without a dog about the place
  25. Gutted for you and your mother pal. My old Ma has a wee staffy x just turned 14 and really showing his age now, I know she's going to be heartbroken when he passes. Always says how safe she feels with him curled up at the end of her bed.
