  1. 8mth Pat dog pup for sale tan in colour

  2. My bitch has a tail and has worked to ground 6 times (first season just ended) and the tail was never a problem. although she doesn't get to stuck in she just bays away nicely until dug too or bolt There is hope then!
  3. They all adore the staff! He's as daft as a brush lol. The red terrier and the black one are litter brothers, they aren't from working parents hence their tails not being docked, but they're showing good signs. I havnt got a clue on their breeding, but as Ellis said we were told a boston terrier is somewhere in the mix although you wouldn't tell. I'm hoping their tails won't be too much of a hinderence if the do take to ground work.
  4. Whippet99, a lot of the people opposed to hunting are also opposed to track dogs, they see it as cruel for whatever reason. Maybe he was refering to Anti's of working dogs in general? I dont know.
  5. Yeah price it if you could please mate, my brothers after one. Blainy
  6. Would you post the smoker mate?
  7. Hi mate is this a kennel and a run?
  8. Im a newbie but I have never heard of that. Rat holes, from my limited experience, are tiny compared to ferrets, hence the need for smokers. I doubt you'll get much back on this mate. Regards Blainy
  9. If the sire and dam are both proven workers, chances are it'll turn out ok.
  10. It seem that around my way its fashionable to have a lurcher now, a bull cross to be exact. People breed and don't cull, then pups are given to kids who breed them again.
  11. I lost my nan just before last christmas after a long battle with cancer, over 15 years she battled with bowl, breast, lung and brain cancer.Tough lady but her health deteriorated so quick in her final months, along with her sanity. she's in a better place now though, where ever that mayy be!
  12. Hello mate, I did a bit of research on bedding and straw seemed commonly used, but it has its downfalls. While it is cheap and warm, it does harbor ticks, mites, fleas etc. It also gives off a fine dust that can get on the dogs chest, although a lot of people seem to use it without complaint. Try wax coated paper shreddings, less mess, no mites etc, very warm and it wont stay damp like straw, although dogs shouldn't be put into their kennel wet anyway. Regards Blainy
  13. I Like that a lot, I'm going to use it in my signature.
  14. Lovely looking pup mate. I'm new to the game too, and a book that helped me with a lot of my general queries was Understanding the Working Lurcher by Jackie Drakeford. You can get it on amazon for less than a tenner. I've also heard Running Dog Maintainence Is a good book. Best of luck and keep us updated on how she's coming on. It would be Ideal if you could find somebody local who'll take you out with his dogs and you could pick his brain. You sound a decent fella so I'm sure some one will offer.
  15. It makes me cringe when people spell greyhound grayhound. dont get me started on sluki/sulki/suluki....

  16. I'd wait until your current pup has had a good go at next season, It'll be harder to train two pups at the same time and that could lead to them not getting the attention to detail they need. Plus once your current pup is working it'll be a good way to introduce a new one.
  17. Learning Kung-fu automatically disables bullies! Chuck Norris told me so!
  18. Still here if any one is interested.
  19. Hello Danny, sorry mate. my friend has decided to swap it for the striker lamp Ginger Dave offered.
  20. Sorry for your loss mate. Times a healer and if you stop now she'll have died in vain. Get back out there and catch that b*****d rabbit!
  21. I haven't yet decided if I'm for or against the culling of excess pups. Jackie Drakeford said she culls the dogs before bitches, and the white dogs first as these are harder to home.
  22. Where have all the rabbits gone!?
