  1. The dog runs fine without any pain, yeah that's how he noticed it also. What's the cause of that and is it common in lurchers ?
  2. Hi lads, my mate has a lurcher that walks a bit strange, throwing the back leg out. The dog has no issues running may I add. Not being into running dogs myself, I told him I would throw the issue on here to see what people's views are on this. He's a decent dog day/night though he's been told under no circumstances should he if he ever decides too, breed from this dog ?? What's the scope ?
  3. I done it years ago also as a teenager, with a few friends obviously. Strange shit, yet the more I thought about it after, we were all making eachother edgy because we were shit scared that it might work. Picture this !! 6-8. 13-14 yr olds Sat in my granny's garden under a load off trees one evening in mid July. Started doing that shit then within 5 mins a big dark cloud came over us and the heavens opened pure heavy rain and hailstones !!! We all shit ourselves !! Ran down with the board to my house were my dad was always burning old wood out the back as he was a joiner and threw it on the fi

Good question !!! Very tricky one to answer also, as it can go either way depending on the cover being hunted and weather also. most DECENT hounds I've seen working would follow on the main, younger dogs would tend to do the obvious. It's hard to tell, though if your standing around cover waiting for a break (in Ireland) with a few lads working there hounds together, it's not hard to tell after a few bits off cover who's hounds are on the ball and who's are not just as HOT. Great thread lads
  6. Cracker looking article Ray, the Glenn in her gives the long body that I like in a terrier. Atb.
  7. Fk me any wonder theres no bids. I think its LUMPHAMMER !!! Lol
  8. She'd still get the rhubarb.
  9. I agree, even seems to have a longer tail in those photos Yeah the first one has a short tail and the second isn't docked.
  10. You cant, as you say it can happen with either type of dog, no matter how good it is, a dog will miss quarry sooner or later.. to say because they only stir things up for a short time that they are no good at finding is rubbish. i rate my "yoyo" as a very good finder, iv had my other dogs check after its had a run through, like wise with him after another of the dogs has had a run through already.. i appriciate there not everyones cup of tea but to say they have no use at all in the terrier game is imo not right Earth " not to be confused with a bolting terrier "?? so what would you describ
  11. If the dogs only a ten minute wonder, how in all honesty can you put 100% trust in the dog ???? I've seen seasoned decent workers that stay until dug passing stuff in the past and only found out because we would usually always try another terrier along a bank after the first dogs said no ones at home. A few people have been embarrassed over the years to say the least. So if you have a wee yo yo that you use for big spots etc and it says no you ain't really in any position to drop another dog to double check so really and truly you could be walking past stuff and you don't even know it !!!! P
  12. I've just bought a citroen Picasso great family car. Don't buy Renault ball off shite, especially Renault scenic diesels worst car on the road along with diesel Clio and laguna. Had them in the family for years and my head was never out of the bonnet fixing the useless bastarding things. The list is endless. Go jap Toyota Honda etc they're proper cars !!!
  13. I was on here the other day and there was a video of 2 men shooting peacock on a steep cliff using 3 liver coloured pointers. I can't find it to show my mate who's well into his gun dogs. Can anyone help me out and tell me were the post is at ????? Thanks
  14. Aye I've one here doing 15 mins, ill get there in the end !!! Lol
  15. spot on,never judge a book by its cover...dodgy spots are kept away from and a 10 minute wonder in a dodgy spot wont make one bit of difference, plenty more sport elsewhere Spot on Dezzy.
  16. then you get 20min wonders lol sorry couldnt help meself lol why would it help doubled up? as i've read on here that the 1 in front could get its arse chewed by the terrier behind :hmm: is this only in a small amount of cases?? Don't forget the other end also !!! : ))
  17. but having said that though, what about the times that it does go in and pop it straight out of the big/un diggable spot?, or finds and has its 10 minutes, comes out and you put a harder type in and you do dig it in the shallow spot of the earth that your 10 minute wonder found in? personally i keep one, and its worth it wait in gold to me, well nearlly lol, but any way i thought you lot that only keep "real dogs" liked a good 12 hour dig to test the dogs metal?? Fair enough statement but bear in mind not every terrierman has room in there kennels for all types of terriers, so like myse
