Seriously, a dash of Saluki does, in my experience, make for a dog with a good instinct for self preservation and much greater agility than the muscled speedster which is the Greyhound. Not so much Saluki as to lose the speed, but enough to add the traits which. The only dog I never worried about in woodland was nearly pure Saluki: she could stick on the tail of large game, leaping fallen branches and avoiding trees like nothing I've seen until the big dog I have now, who is also mostly Saluki.
