Isn't lure fishing good for bass, i haven't done it but would like to give it a go.

You can get a decent reel now for £50, go into your local tackle shop and ask there advice, you will get to have a feel of a few reel's, you should have a better understanding then, good luck.

Good size carp up that end, maghull stretch good on floater's, lot's of match fishermen = lot's of bait.
