  2. a nice one for the pot..................................dogs looking good I.L
  3. The working dog fraternity are very suspicious of anyone...................antis come in all shapes and sizes with varying degrees of knowledge...............dont worry about it kid..... Coursing foxes with lurchers is now illegal as I'm sure will know..................so thats leaves rabbits.......Any lurcher with wippet collie beddy terrier or grey in it will do you................for large field then a leggier dog will be better...for small paddock work...a wippet cross for exposive speed is what you will need!
  4. h's a big lad for 4.5 onths...best of luck with him
  5. still very much a pup like mine...and easily get into bad habbits..... I would recon that continually praising her for returning back late would have an adverse effect but not the once....as difficult as it may seem at time one has to be very concise about where and when the 'love' & 'correction' is dealt out as pups do get confused with mixed messages.......... I would advise slipping her on rabbit she'll catch for definate...better still mixy ridden ones.......otherwise she may get fustrated and start yipping. hopes she comes good....................maybe she was a bit overw
  6. Got them Saturday mornnig shaun.....thanks alot mate.............really appreciate that.....was funny watching her walk around like a new born bamby when I first tried them on her!!!!!! and for those out there driven by 'self - gratification' and 'greed'....................there are still some kind and thoughtfull folks left.....and ye man Shaun here is one of them!! :drink: :victory:
  7. still quite poor to be honest...................................there has been a slight improvement though as when she catches...instead of running off and eating it...she jogd about 20 yards ...and drops it......still got a lot of work to do.....I am currently trying to find a really cheap but long retractble lead that I can train her with a dummy and pelt. cheers Paul
  8. good on you mate for sticking with it...................I would instinctivley thught the same...and would have doubted whether or not she shuold have put to sleep.. pleased its healing properly, I good luck with her. :clapper:
  9. ...she can shift!......................if you are ever in North lincs bud, you are more than welcome to come out for a shine
  10. An hour a week training with experience dogs is not to much for an 8 months pup at all.......she only get a couple of slips.....the rest of the time she's watching & learning Alot of folk make a big deal about this.......what is differnece between walking you're dog.....which in turn chases a rabbit..... and walking with you're dog on a slip...and slipping it when you see rabbit.... Obviously, slip after slip aftr slip is a no no............... every single day
  11. just a quick update on me pup who is coming up 8 months now. Very happy with how shes getting on sit heel recall is good...needs more work on retrieving though...shes healed up weel form her stopper injuries and has been on the lead for week until this morning Had a few day time rabbits and half a dozen on the lamp.......she particularly good a picking up squatters befopre they even run...... I have her out once week on the lamp for an hour with my cousin (rob-s) and his experienced bull crosses..and shes coming on well. for those who dont know shes bres Dam 3/8 5/8 bullxgrey

  14. nice pictures once again frank....................the Saluki is looking bizzle!!!!!!
  15. split them up then mate...have abit more one one and go back to basics with the retrieving........I know my problem is slightly different although casued by similar circumstances.. I am going back to drag rope and rabbit pelt on a dummy.......gonna take a while but its worth if shes is a good un on the norm...bets a luck buddy!
  16. quite possibly mate................................especially if she is sumissive towards the terrier. I fecked up like this by having my lurcher pup kennelled with a spaniel. It was only when she started to catch the odd rabbit then to proceed to leg it and eat that I realised what I'd done......created a possession problem that I am tryng to sort out as we speak!.
  17. good news mate.................. ....................you can download a free photo resize off google my man!
  18. how old is the bitch by the way??? first lamping session of the season mate........she's bound to be a bit rusty.... if it persists...then I would have a re-think.
  19. I would have imagined that if you could spend a bit of time getting up close with sheep with the dog on a tight lead...then with a bit of love and correction........anything could be achieved... some recon an old dog cant learn new tricks..........and sometimes the bad behaviour is very deep rooted...I think that with enough time and determination anything can be achieved........world peace...save the whales.....no more starving kids ........................thats why I'm entereing into Miss Universe oh....welcome to the forum......nice lookign dog by the way
  20. no mate not a serious question , just havin a laugh cheers for the comment on my bitch Was you just having an 'elsturdo' moment Tyss????? :whistling:
