Just bought the very scope you mentioned, cracking mate. Clear glass, ret not too thick or thin, good FOV and the illuminated ret has a good range of brightness. Compared it along side a Mamba lite an I preferred it.

We're all bent over a barrel by a few in Brussels. They can dip their hands into our treasury when they want, try and extort money when they want by using the incomprehensible laws they bang out. Bloody land pirates if you ask me.

Best .22 pellets for getting rabbits?
reaper1064 replied to Laurence_13's topic in Reloading and Gun Maintenance
I will start by saying that I suppose that I was a little sensitive about the "real guns" remark and that I do agree with the point you made in your last post. I do not agree that killing a rabbit cleanly at 60yrds is fantasy though. I have; and it was only on one occasion, taken a rabbit at that range and it dropped quite nicely. Now I am not saying that everyone should go out and blast away at ranges they are not capable of , but if you know your range and your kit well then now and again shots like these are in fact plausible. Each side of our chosen sport has it's place and should be given -
It's alright, size isn't everything you know.

Nice one mate a few less. You did well getting that amount I only usually get one or two.

Best .22 pellets for getting rabbits?

Mate don't usually comment on these sort of threads but come on " I'll stick to real guns",, really?. I've been in the forces so before you comment Idon't know what real guns are think on . We all have our place in this sport whether it's air rifle owners who yes can take rabbits up to 50yrds humanely or big men like your self with real guns. I find that the FAC guys I know are comfortable with what I shoot and what they shoot with equal respect. Not one of them belittle the capabilities of what I use and are educated enough not to get into cock measuring exercises of who's best. I have many a -
Cheers for the comments guys.

You shouldn't need to change your pellet as the barrel has not been touched. Once Darrin fettles with it, it will be a smoother and overall consistent gun without the worries of bit's failing. I send my guns to Tench who does the same services and designed the reg Darrin retro fits to some guns, and they always come back being the beast they should always have been.

After a long time of swapping and changing I have finally found a scope that suits me as much as my BSA Essential, a Hawke HD 4-12x50 AO IR. Not a top end scope but it works for me as these two will tell you. Just got it zeroed and a Maggie drops in my favorite tree, so thought I'd see if my efforts were worth it, hell yes straight through the brain box at 30yrds. Got back to the gun and looked round and bugger me a woodie had dropped onto two branches above where the Maggie was so he was next.

Thing is that when someone designs something it will always fall into someone else's hands to build them. This is usually when a good solid design becomes prey to cost cutting and couldn't give a shit attitudes of some assemblers. I think that every gun should be traceable to the person who built it, so when it gets returned for QC issues then they can boot the fecker who knocked it together out the door.

My lad found a new ring on the floor in Samuels, he picked it up put it on the counter and said to the woman " I've found this on the floor", she looked at him like a piece of crap and didn't even thank him for his honesty. I however was proud of him and told him that he had done the right thing. Then said to the woman that she was a sour faced cow, and how does she think any kid will remain honest in life if everyone had her out look. Bitch.

How refreshing, I commented on this thread in the early days recognizing the skill that has gone into the shot he made. Then I waited for the battering for him making a shot over 40yrds. The reason for this is this is what would happen on any of the other sites. It's nice to see that his skill in range finding and knowing his kit has been recognized and not slated. -
Be scared to use that mate, what a cracker.

Nice shooting mate, and good write up.

Bsa barrels love Falcon Accuracy Plus. Fly flat and keep their whack down range. These pellets consistently preform well with the Bsa's.

Watched our local news where the education secretary visited a Muslim only pre school in leicester. What would happen if I went out and opened a Christian only pre school. How the bloody hell do they get away with it and no one bats an eye.

Well shot mate, Just goes to show how good how good ranging and knowing your gear can give you a sweet shot. -
I don't drink or smoke, both of which my missus does, but if I need some more pellets it's do you really need them. Der!. I wanted a new scope and, "you've already got one ". Try telling her that when she comes home with a new outfit, shoes or hand bag, and you get yes they need them for blah blah blah. We will never win.
