  1. The first dog I ever owned was a collie x spaniel and it was her that got me into rabbiting, I was 10 yrs old, she was a brilliant dog in the bush and very good to listen.

  4. I have always had a whippet since my kids were small and they are in their 20s now, never owned one that wouldnt work and would never part with them. I have 2 bitches at the moment a fawn one and a black one and both are mustard on rabbits and rats

  7. minced chicken Where you getting the minced chicken from ? There is some on sale in south wales and its great grub but because it has all the skin and bones minced in it will pile the weight on the dog. PM me if you like

  9. you can get Penstrip injectable penicillin from farm supplies shop, its about £20 for 100ml bottle you only give about 2ml to a dog
  10. My whippet cut herself on some wire about a week ago, I glued it and it has almost healed all except a half inch tear, she keeps licking it and if I glue it she licks it open. Can I get an antiseptic powder to go on there that will dry it up, help it heal and hopefully stop her licking it. I have used blue spray as I do on any minor cuts but she has got a taste for that and licks that off, dont really want to put a cone collar on her as it is a nightmare for them eating and drinking. Any constructive advice would be good Thanks
  11. Why does it kill collie dogs ? I am not saying I donrt believe you but its mad how it will effect just one breed. Saying that I do know of a guy by me that treated a dog with it and the dog went blind so it is nasty stuff.

  14. I have a 6 month old saluki cross who is very vocal, nothing wrong with her just likes a whine. I put it down to growing pains, not a problem and it pisses the neighbours off so cant be bad
  15. I have some permission that I stopped doing last month to let the numbers grow but I have other places that insist they are ferreted and lamped all year round due to the numbers of rabbits there ..horses for courses I suppose
  16. the rabbits run up over an old tip that is too rough to run a dog on but they are out in the open. I ferret it all year round as there are so many rabbits there

  18. My cousin is not on here but is looking for a working bedlington dog, he is only using it for bushing rabbits and maybe the odd bit of ratting. Might consider a Beddy x whippet if it was working well. Cash waiting and willing to travel any distance
