  1. Maybe .22 is too challenging for him, seems a chopper, one single hob ferret aswell......should always be kept in pairs at least! It would not surprise me if your lurcher is on roids (so it gets there faster) hahaha.
  2. Whilst the HW97 will always be my first choice rifle, the vermin has picked up around the farm mainly rats and crows / rooks, so its more of a must than a hobby, im looking for a work horse rifle that will get a few knocks being used in trucks and around the farm. Personally i have yet to handle a PCP let alone shoot one so my knowledge is next to none, but reading reviews i like the following rifles: BSA Ultra Multishot but will it be to small..... im 6ft 6", saying that is it the best value for money? S400 / S410 looks like my favorite at the moment? HW100 never seen a bad review... is
  3. Great to read mawders, and that's coming from someone who has never read a book haha, and you have also given SFS the praise it deserves, like you i would sooner drive 60 miles past 3 local gun shops to go to SFS.
  4. Like others i was bought up with .22 "mans caliber i was told along with 12 gauge instead of 20 gauge" but got a TX200 in .177 and have never looked back, much flatter trajectory and gets there faster, but saying that as a nipper with not a great amount of experience i could confidently hunt with the .22 right up till last year, so .22 is not the end of the world especially if its a bargain!
  5. Ha gun only as he wants to keep his scopes........... that he is also selling on the forum?
  6. If its too good to be true it normally is!
  7. I have used it alongside a combro and it was always within 8fps, normally lower than the combro, its reasonably accurate if all set up right.
  8. Bisley Hollow Point Pest Control are a good pellet.
  9. Dose this have an extended stock on the fore grip? i have seen these and like the look of them, and they are not over priced just because they are limited edition, what is the scope like?
  10. TX is easier than the 97 by a fair bit to be honnest, as milegajo said its less drift pins etc, you could strip it in the field with no little fiddly bits, but the 97 is quite easy if you have some knowledge of how to.
  11. Anybody at Kelmarsh today? Would be good to meet up! Atb.
  12. They both have their place, i use firearms rifle for fox control on the land etc, but you cant beat an air rifle round the barns and yards without worrying abut putting holes in things!
  13. Also try some RWS superfeilds they are good for the price and like BSA barrels.
  14. I cant wait, i have gone for the stage 1 for now but no doubt stage 2 will be round the corner at some point, along with a wooden stock i think, not sure how stainless will work with beech but we will see! glad your happy with yours looking forward to your review on it and the Prosport!
  15. I'm not online yet but i will have to get it sorted out!, i only have two games MW3 and Forza 4 haha.
  16. I wouldn't say snobbery, is a way of life for some, most livestock farmers and and keepers own at least one pair of Le Chameau, and as said the after care is great.
  17. Mine is off to SFS tomorrow for its tune and i would choose HW97 over TX200 and Prosport.
  18. Yeah either HD or Airmax or even a Panorama second hand maybe!
  19. Spending all day in them everyday and owning 3 pairs here is my oppinion: Le Chameau Neoprene Zip: Wear them everyday quite light and also quite warm, wear them over the Agile for a days work! Le Chameau Wool lined Zip: Best pair by far the warmest and best made (still in france) but wouldnt like to get the inners wet! Agile Neoprene Zip: Warmer and more supportive than Le Chameau neoprene, but quite abit heavier and chunkier! Also owned a pair of leather linned but they went back after a days shooting, took ages to warm up and then if you get abit of foot sweat they swell and take forever
  20. Peanut better never fails for me, but i would work out the distance your are using on the rats, get an average and zero before going to the barn / yard, rats will soon cotton on to your routine and the waiting game will only get worse, they are clever and after a while they even become immune to poison! i normally leave all the dispatched rats till the end of the night, but i also wear gloves with rats as they are dirty things! Atb.
  21. I think you should go with the Hawke, the quality for the price is great. Atb.
