Best general purpose scope for close up & distance?
deano26 replied to GruffaloGriff's topic in General Airgun Discussion
I am unfamiliar with those scopes if I am honest, I just know that both my Simmons have stags heads on them Regards Dean -
Thank you simon, It was and is really appreciated I must admit I am still trying to replicate the stick split at whatever stupendus range that was! ive got really close with the pcp, buts that's cheating isn't it I will get there, practice and more practice I'm wanting the 77k tuned when I have some spare cash, I think she deserves it found out that when it was serviced it was fitted with what I believe an ox spring Take care my friend, and thankyou for the information Regards Dean

if its got the stags head id say its a simmons. Ive got a fixed 4x40(i think) simmons on my hw77k and its a good all round scope, clise range out to as far as u want to shoot.ace little scope and pianoman approved Ive got a huuggee zoom BSA deerhunter scope (8-32 x40 iirc) on my pcp and if im honest i stick it on 8x and leave it as its pretty usless at bigger zooms other thsn for looking were you hit the targets when plinking and cant be bothered to walk to the target. Regards Dean Edited the scope mags as I was on my phone and now I am on the pc it tells me what they a -
Hi simon, Very interesting that as I know very little about Webley, so thank you. As said it wasn't a bad little rifle, he's given it to his younger brother now so im trying to find some scope mounts that I had on a REALLY cheap rifle that I had, and mount a spare Simmons scope on it for him and take him out with me, and hopefully teach him abit of what you taught me and introduce another young lad into the sport. I havnt got a picture to hand but im sure google will help me on that Is there anything that I can do with the trigger? its rather stiff and rather spoils it. shoot

Hi lads, One of my mates brought a rifle round to mine yesterday to have a plink with, he told me it was only a cheap market job and he bought it from a friend. I took a few shots with it and its not bad, abit twangy needs a new spring and the trigger was a bit stiff. Does anyone know anything about it? out of interest more than anything. Said webley sport on it and made in spain? .22 break barrel and it had like fibre optic things on the foresight? cheers all just curious regards dean

What have I started Its something I have been looking into for a long time, And as I am sure you will appreciate, its a HUUGGE change in lifestyle. I thought of the regiment first off (and still am if I'm honest) but looked further into it and weapons systems operator (crewman) looks interesting. I went to see the careers stand at Waddinton air show, and as helpful as they were I suppose they can only tell you what you want to hear.... Regards Dean

Just don't think ive nicked it off you Great minds think alike and all that Regards Dean

Hi,Books I have both a springer and a pcp, I bought the PCP with the idea of using its as a hunting gun as it was lighter and smaller ect so much better to use in the field. And in all honestly........%t of the time it stays at home, I walk past it and pick up the heavy old hw77k. yes its not the lightest thing in the world but as a hunting rifle the PCP cant match it, so much more satisfaction when you make that clean shot, because you know it was you that made it, not the rifle. I love mine seems a HW break barrel would suit your needs perfectly. Nice avatar picture by t

Cant go far wrong with a Weihrauch I have been really looking into a career in the RAF aswell coincidently. But still not 100% its the right thing to do. Good luck with the search mate. you never know, something may pop up on here that would be suitable. Regards Dean

^ would that have been an air-soft gun? like a high power BB gun? some of those are doing 500 fps could easily take and eye out! A friend of mine had a tooth shot out buy one of those.( at a site that your supposed to use them at....not on the street) Regards Dean

Sorry to hear about this, Things like this really do annoy me as it not only gives air gunners a bad name, but also all of my generation, all because some lowlife has no respect for peoples property or well being, Then they moan that they have been 'bullied' and 'picked on by the law'-they really don't do themselves any favours. Glad you were not hurt Were not all hoodlums and hoodies, Honest Regards, Dean
