  1. Brilliant Si tell Davy I said thanks. Let me know how much he wants for them or if he'd like to swap for my high mounts Cheers pal. By the way tried ringing you the other day, have you changed your mobile number?
  2. Hi,I use the hornady 17 grain stuff. I find on a still day (when I'm on form) I can clover leaf off the bipod past 150 yards, and the hilly back stop after a practise session looks like its been strafed with machine gun fire. If you can hit the kill zone, the round will kill very effectively way beyond the skill of a shooter will allow. Agree that foxes are a controversial subject with the .17, but a head shot anchors them very nicely at 100 yards; lights out. Thats some nice shooting Duncan
  3. Hi lads, have any of you got a spare set of 25mm medium mounts that I could buy? I've got a set of 25mm Hawke High Mounts that I could swap for a set of 25mm Medium Mounts, preferably Hawke as I have their measurements and its to fit a 50mm objective so there's not much room for error! I have an additional 9mm of height that I'd like to lose to improve the eye alignment on my set up. My mounts are like new and are the double allen screw type pictured here: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Hawke-Match-Rifle-Scope-Mounts-1-2pce-Choose-Height-Air-Gun-Rimfire-/281052835414?pt=UK_SportingGoods_Hunting
  4. Nice one the gafer Nice rifle too
  5. Cheers Rob, just need to get a proper mount. The Seben Scope Mount's aren't really that stable. I've found what may be suitable on Amazon but its for bike/motor bike handlebars
  6. Get on it Mawders I'm sure you won't have a problem getting your FAC
  7. Will do, what am I using, as in rifles or camera?
  8. Think I'll be having one of these to film my hunting footage and add another camera angle to my videos.. cheap enough and should fit on the scope nicely http://www.amazon.co.uk/Motorcycle-Bicycle-Handlebar-Camcoders-Videocams/dp/B00585CLVS/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1362520233&sr=8-1
  9. Thanks Si, got another little video to upload tonight. Shot the edge of a penny with it at 105 yards, second shot. This will be my crow bashing tool once I've mastered all the POI on the scope
  10. For those that are interested:
  11. Bloody brilliant Chris, well done mate. If you can carry it around in the field without losing alignment you've got a real winner there! I'll be having a go at that soon!
  12. Can you post the link Chris, I can't see it on my phone. Cheers
  13. Love it Chris, well done mate. I'm definately going to have a go at this with the Galaxy S2!
  14. Well done Chris, is it stable enough to walk around with in the field if you wanted to film your hunting exploits? Fancy posting a step-by-step guide on how you made it, or better still fancy making me one for my Samsung Galaxy S2 By the way, your dog looks impressed!
  15. £9 per box is cheap, my RFD wants £13. per box of the Hornady's. Where's your local shop?
  16. I know all barrels are different and its usually a case of testing different brands of ammo through your rifle but its an expensive thing to do in the .17HMR caliber. I've heard that most, if not all of the HMR rounds are made in the same factory and I'd like to know what round the .17HMR users are using. I started with CCI GamePoints in 20grns and played with the Hornady 17grns. Think I'm going to give the Hornady another go as the last batch of CCI's weren't very good. So, what rounds have you found best in your HMR?
  17. Nice shooting Si and what a lovely looking rifle. I'd love to have a go with your HW97KT, sounds a dream to shoot
  18. Thanks for the positive comments lads. Looking forward to hearing how you get on with the Andy/SFS HW97K of Simon's Yes Gasman1 you are right about Dave Hall, he surely knows his way around a springer. I'm suprised more don't send work his way, its top class
  19. Nipped out this morning to blow out the cobwebs and thought I'd do another quick video of the .22 HW77K. I chose to shoot some spent .17HMR cartridges end on at 50m with Falcon Accuracy Plus pellets. I was quite happy with the result. Although one of the shots was a bit low it was still within the accepted kill zone of our UK quarry. Further experimentation is needed with these pellets, but with a zero of 25m and only 2 mil dots hold over on x6 magnification (old Hawke Frontier 3-9x40) I'm quite happy. Think I'll stick with these pellets for now and properly calibrate my scope another time.
