It's very similar to the chuckle but different. I really can't describe it. I'm no worried now though. Like I said, he's fine, healthy, eating well and active so there can't be much wrong with the little stinker

Where can I get hold of these mate? Thanks
-
Cheers for the help. I'll get him checked on thursday to be sure. Thanks again

I was going to get mine castrated. Do they definitely work just as well?

I haven't got Facebook.any chance you could post the address details up or the website address please. Thanks Edited to say- I am a donut, didn't realise the show has been and gone lol

Thanks for the replies. It's put my mind at rest, I will still go and get him checked out on Thursday just to be 100% sure. I was worried that maybe he had a bone stuck it something to that effect but like I said, he had always been noisy since I got him at 8wks. Would it be possible for something to be stuck in his throat or does that just sound daft? Thanks

I've been the Galloway show for the last 5 years, it was on the estate that I underkept on. Have to day each year has been the same, kind of disappointing, there is terrier racing but it's just a bit of fun, any dogs can enter. We get 2 tickets fir the price of 1 as my dad lives on the estate. They had moved it this year to Drumlanrig castle in an attempt to re-vitalise the show. wasn't going to go as it was the same crap year after year but might give it another go and see what they have done with the 'spruce up'

Ive got 3 hobs and a spayed jill. They dont fight at the minute but when they come into season i have the measure in place to seperate them. They will go back together afterwards. I wouldn't let them breed. I had it in my head, the big ideas with the glitz and glamour but ive quickly learnt that's it's best to keep it simple and get some seasons under your belt. Think about breeding to improve your stock and not just out of ease or to make money. Stick to the basics

It's like a squaking noise mate. I suppose it might just be like a seal noise. Maybe would explain it as he was squeaking when I carried him up the stairs to get something and when I sat down and he was chilling out walking over the bench etc he didn't make it- ( maybe he had calmed down and relaxed)? It's similar to the noise he makes when he's happy like the chattering noise but a bit more louder and forceful if you get me

Good when the more experienced help the younger/ newer folk out. You never learn enough or know everything.

Ooft. I've read posts on here about people's hobs gettin the snip and then they put them through a handful of jills only to find that theyre all pregnant and the op didnt work. I don't know about the tubes growing back? Is this possible? Atb

Hi. I was looking for a bit of advice off you lot as you will undoubtedly know more than me. I've got 2 hob kits, theyre around 11 weeks old just now. One of then has always been a noisy little bugger compared to his brother who is quiet. Now I was handling him before and he seems to make this 'squaking or squeaking' noise every now and then. It's hard to describe. I can't be 100% if it's only when I touch him as he is noisy anyway. I've examined every part of his body for tenderness and pain and there's no particular area that I can tell that is sensitive. I'm no expert and I hadnt really not

People that come along and piss on other peoples posts are just c**ts, f**k off with your shitty posts 'Tiny 7'. oh, and 'Veedublee' mate, i have a pair of those boots. They are cracking and normally cost £100 + ... so pretty damn good deal I agree mate. I'm trying to sell these boots (which went straight away) and that c**ts on here trying to act like I'm charging too much. Pisses me off when they Piss all over a post with shite. Thanks for the back up mate. Them boots are a good deal at that price as you must know. The army surplus sells what the army doesn't want, all wank. If you

I don't know like but I was out ferreting with a gamekeeper a few years ago in a woods where there was an old pheasant pen. His Jill ferret was goin through the chicken wire no problem from hole to hole? I've heard of ferrets escaping from the hutches you buy from pet shops with te solid steel bars on the front. They are escape artists. I know it's expensive mate. Your best using the rectange mesh stuff which I've got on mine, or the cm wide square mesh which I will be soon changing to as my hobs have bent the mesh and it looks untidy. I know it's expensive but I'm pretty sure they wi

As I agree. I've been on a couple in the past and they are all people that either don't move oot the house or think hunting is going the butchers. Some people on here will really help you out ad even the people which I thought were pricks at first, when you listen to them they have been doing it longer than me and they are old school. Tough love I suppose is the way to put it. Straight to the point. Youve gotta take it on the chin. There's always something good on here, or something to have a read through. Learn a lot too and meet some decent people.

I've only ever seen 2, they look like feckin ferrets on roids and I would put my hand anywhere near them even with a welding glove.call me a shitbag but I'd rather get bit on the arse by a badger

Next year when we move, I'm hoping to buy a shed and make it into the ferrets home with an outside run attached. I was thinking about separating the inside into 4 different compartment that can easily be joined together or separated by a Catflap size wooden slide. I have to do this as my hobs are ok together but they fight in season and my only jill is and old girl and likes her space away from the active young lads. If only money was something that grew on trees. I will get there one day.

I got a 'best dad' mug and I'm over the moon. My first fathers day and my mug will be pride of the cupboard!

Well you will probably know more about DIY than me then. You can't go wrong with wood though, ferrets like anything to play with. As long as it smells of something, they can dig in it, get muddy in it or get lost then they don't care how much it costs or what it looks like. Atb

I made a run mate, it was basically a wooden frame, about 7foot long, 3-4 foot wide and about 4 foot high. I just covered the lit in mesh and made a wooden door 1/3 of the top on top. I used plywood. If you made the door maybe 1/2 the length of the roof then that would provide enough shade? As for thing inside, I had an old piece of plywood and put top on the four corners and attached it to the roof, it's like a platform that swings a little. A cardboard box with ripped up newspaper is their favourite. Blankets hanging from the platform for them to climb up. Cat toys hanging from the roof.
