Me too! I sorted him a nearly brand new scope worth a couple of hundred quid so that he could take his lad out shooting and he said he would sort me a catapult out for my little lad. There's been no sign of a catapult or the scope since. Said he would put pic of it up but just posted one of a cheap 50 quid jobbie. I even paid for first class delivery as well. The decent thing to do would be for him to have passed it to someone who genuinely was going to use it with their kid I may as well have sold it myself but thought I was helping a father and son out ?

Cheers for the replies vin and TOMO. Was supposed to be taking kids out again today for a days ferreting but too breezy and sometimes bunnies seem a bit more reluctant to bolt when it's really windy. Nipped to see Moocher71 off here and picked up one of the ferrets he needed rehoming to one of my mates who is a decent family man and will give it a good home. We had a good chat and i gave him a big bag of bunnies for his dogs/ferrets as a thank you.

Cheers for the replies lads, am even more confused now! Got my Mrs to email the technical dept at Hawke today must admit they were brilliant they got straight back to me with an email trying to explain it and gave me a number to call if I was still unsure so going to give them a call tomorrow as it's easier to explain over the phone etc so will see how that goes.? It's surprising on the number of variations of answers you get from different people you would think there would be a simple answer that everybody would know including myself ?

Flynndog - my Mrs has posted scope to you and sent you a PM with Royal Mail tracking number etc ?

Just a quick question if you set your parallex at 40yds and zero it in and then you change your parallex to 50yds does that change your zero point? For many years thought it didn't but some people say it does so not sure. Thanks Wilbs

Flynnd0og i.ve sent you a PM pal.0

Cheers big napper - have shown my kids the comments as some kids get brainwashed by school and the media my kids get the truth and am sure there are probably antis/snowflakes reading this. I do rabbiting/pest control and you might laugh at this a couple of people I know who have land/small holdings and like to see rabbits running around and they pop the odd one off for the pot but they haven't seen a bunny in a couple of years and i have helped them to organise repopulating these areas, it is nice to see and i have had a lot of permission from it. You learn to respect the countryside and

Gay people in general seem to have good personalities and each to their own but I couldn't lie next to them and watch it ......now lesbians that's a different matter now we're talking. You do see some stuff when you are out and about at night Once saw a couple of travelling lads tipping a load of pvc fascia on a country lane the one in the van booted it and his mate went flying out the back and landed on the fascia. Ended up having the crack with them they put it all back on the van and chucked it out somewhere else. Turned up to do some long netting one night and someone was alread

Same as pal never really had to train dog to lamp as once you have that bond with them then comes your retrieve, recall etc and a load of nice easy bunnies which gives them confidence and does them a world of good. There are lots of different ways and different dogs. Dogs naturally just pick it up. I had a bedo whippet greyhound years ago it was quite a decent dog a good all rounder and I took my time with it and never ran it too hard and only on bunnies. You would be out lamping and running well catching a few rabbits and then it would just stop like a switch had gone off in it and just

Cheers for that Trev70. It's hard trying to film when there's kids, dogs, ferrets, rabbits etc about but it's nice to have something that you can watch and look back on when the kids are older. That's what I like about yours just simple, dog and camera. Will get my Mrs to look into the YouTube and camcorder thing. Never used to bother with pics and videos as am out quite a lot with dogs etc so it's just an another night but when you have kids you can look back at it and the memories.

Cheers pal I let her do a set on her own putting all the nets on, running long net out and diving on the bunnies. I gave her a hand when a couple bolted at once etc. She's a right strong bugger I've had her out with me from a young age carrying bags of rabbits, long nets etc. One of her old PE teachers said she was a natural athlete I grinned and thought if you knew what it was that was keeping her fit! You can't beat being down the fields in the fresh air

I completely forgot all about it pal but I've got some footage from before I tried to post it but file too large. One of the regulars from on here was going to come out with me this weekend just gone but was busy with work so told him to come out with me next time for a day or two ferreting and shooting and I will try and squeeze some night time long netting in and I will try and film some decent footage and post that. I bumped into a young couple shagging on my permission a while back at 3am in the morning, they had nowt on and i had the crack with them but they were a bit embarrassed so

Cheers for the replies lads am a bit crap with posting videos etc. Don't really take pics when I'm out unless I take the kids. The video is a bit all over the shop I nearly smashed my phone as kept cutting off and going back to start. Managed to get some nice footage of her and it was good to watch. There is one chap on here who does some brilliant filming I may have to contact him about sorting a day out as i would like a proper video of them with plenty of action. My daughter has a newish iPhone what a load of rubbish that is you can't even pause your video. If anyone has any tips they

Had a nice few hours ferreting again with the kids. My little lad learnt a very important lesson don't put your hand near the ferret when it's grabbing a bunny or you will get your finger bitten!! One of the regulars on here is going to come out with me to help me get the numbers down but unfortunately he had to work. I'm taking him out for a day or two of rabbiting and in return he is going to teach me a few more things about kayaking am looking forward to it, hopefully he will be able to come next time I go. Had quite a few bunnies with young uns they seem to breed all year round

Thanks mate that's a very good offer very decent of you. I'm quite lucky to have quite a few permissions around and about to go at but if you want to organise any days out up your end I would be more than happy to have a drive up and join you and your little lad for a days ferreting and hopefully I can return the favour. I don't mind travelling as do a lot of driving with work, family and rabbiting etc. If ever you want to arrange anything just drop us a PM. Wilbs

Trev70 - here is a pic of my dog from when I went out early hours of the morning on New Years Day for an hour went straight from a family party after a few bevvys lol. He looks slightly lighter as flash on phone is very bright

That was about 2 months ago pal, had quite a few bunnies and there was one area of the permission that I think VHD has affected it as a few of the sets were dead and covered in leaves etc. Usually all of the sets you would normally get a few out of as I don't go there very often. My friend the farmer told me that it had been on the news that there had been cases of VHD in the area and normally you see a lot of hares running about but only saw a few and they now reckon that it may now be affecting hares too.

Your dog on the right hand side in this pic looks identical to mine his face, markings etc are the same. I will post a pic of him tomorrow so you can see, he looks like his twin! Mine is approx 24in and he has got a bit of everything in him, I kept him out of a litter I bred myself.

Just got back from lamping myself, had a cracking night plenty of bunnies. It's a pleasure to watch your dogs hunt they certainly know their job and I really enjoy watching your videos. There are some cracking little runs. ????

Yes they do, my Mrs normally does all the cooking but most Saturdays I make rabbit kebabs/wraps and fry it with a bit of Cajun seasoning they love them. Both my kids go to rural schools so most of the kids there know where there meat comes from and that it doesn't come out of tins and packets! They also chat to each other about country pursuits.

Am very lucky to have access to places that still have plenty on and the kids loved it. Nice to get young uns involved as doesn't seem to be many young people getting into it nowadays. I can remember when I was younger if you caught just a couple you walked through the streets proud as anything.

Took kids out ferreting today as they both have their own small ferrets. We did two sets and got 41 mainly through purse nets and a bit of long netting missed a few. Was watching my 12 year old daughter running the long net out made me very proud as would rather they be outside in the fresh air, keeping them fit and strong. We were out for 3 hours and everything going well and we were off after this set as we had got enough then two or three baby rabbits came out and one of the ferrets decided to lay up about 8ft down, I very rarely have to dig for them as they are only small and struggle

In the summer months we spend hours snorkelling with the kids and we have found a couple of places where there are pipes going into the sea think they might be surface water drainage but not sure what they are and the amount of fish hiding underneath them is surprising, we have had some cracking days there but you have to get your bait right underneath the pipe for the best results. It's surprising what's right in front of you when the tide is right in.
