    yeah was so much diffrent in the 1950 when I started go out with my dad , use to sit on handlebars of old butchers bike while dad peddled , dog Trotted along side . Think it was five miles there and five back dog still had to catch hares . We got the hare or rabbit the dog got saps , if we didn't get enough .

    LOL, I hope you mean Shooting News. I doubt The Sporting Dog Journal was ever in the newsagents. There was a mag called Sporting Dog mid 80's in UK. I signed up and sent off payment for 12 month. They managed to produce 5 I think. Never got me money back :-) thoes was the days sending postal orders away and sae .

    only need taco if hire or reward as I use 7.5 ton horse box no need for taco also u can use a log book if u wish instead of taco. But your right newer truck types only about two . So looks like I will be going down ford route .Don't dismiss the Isuzu, the are bloody good trucks and not quite as pumped up on steroid as the Rangers.     I love to be able to take part in this when If I was younger , basically you catch a salmon in the morning shoot a brace of grouse then shoot a stag all done in a highland estate with help of keepers, must be done within dawn and dusk in the same day , but as i am in my 70s I am now unable biggest regret just wondered what everyone biggest hunt regret is . Even it selling a dog or not buying one etc .

    sounds like you don't belive me I was only in aberdeenshire last week fishing at that prices defo worth the travel , would love to fish the tay but at those prices leave it to the guys who turn up in rangerover with all the gear and know idea !!     i,m a bit of a Landy purist and I think, that thing like most modern Landy,s would be left wanting against a proper 101 ,I think the beauty of the original series 1-2-3 and the 101 was the fact they could be repaired at the side of the road if they ever did break down, were as a modern one has to be fixed by a technician with a diagnostics computer and a van full of spare parts, landrover ceased making proper Landy,s after the 200tdi defender, from there on it was all down hill, if you want to go fast get a sports car but if you want to go anywhere get a proper landroverI thought the 300tdi wa

    Most Americans don't shoot driven pheasant, or any other driven bird, so I would expect them to wear whatever they own which they feel is most appropriate. It isn't terribly hard to find a few pieces of appropriate kit over here.
