Piriton is an anti histamine ... How does that help with fireworks ??? ....... I thought that as well but apparently Piriton has a mild sedative effect, especially with smaller dogs.

My other Russell dog who's older doesn't notice the bloody things and I never make a big deal out of any load nosies really and its usually quiet at mine so all that bollocks about them taking a cue from you doesn't wash with me. The bitch however is different kettle of fish and not just with Fireworks ether, Thunderstorms even distant ones can set her off as well. Although nether of them give a toss at gun noises when out and about??? I tried the Piriton Tablets and they did seem to work cheers for that bit of advice Shepp.

Right lads it's the time of the year again when daft burgers let off fireworks everywhere it seems. Well this is the first time experience for my Russell bitch and she's like a bag of nerves shaking and panting! Any tips or advice to help calm her down???

Hunting any species to the brink of extinction is what marks man as a most shallow and stupid animal! Industrial whaling by the Japanese was only started as a means to feed its people in World War II. The fact is these days a large amount of its population especially the young do not eat it any more in the amounts that it used to be.
