nothing to killing range but steel is the cheapest non toxic by far to buy and to reload .i enquired last year to get a zabala 10 bore, rebored to 1/4 and 1/4 was quoted £25 per barrel. Cheers for the info....any chance of an address or phone number of this gunsmith..??? Alan

hello...have priced having barrels bored out to 1/2 and 1/2..£150ISH..what diffence would this make to the cartridges..buying/ reloading..and to the guns effective killing range.?Cheers Alan

hello.....have been offered a 10 bore o/u full & full choke.. 3.5 in chamber for goose shooting..I know lead is not permissable on the foreshore....so what shot could I use...knowing steel cannot be shot through the barrels..I will be buying cartridges to start with, then intend to reload My own..so what loads./shot can I use and to what distance are they effective..... cheers Alan

mix the panacur insome vegy oil....mix well...pour some onto pellets/wheat giving it a coating,,,continue doing so for 12 days..will cure your gape prob Alhoy

LL tried using the spring in the feeders...found them to be a pain....always getting stretched...by roe.....ended up taping round the spring till about 1 inch of spring was left showing ..so the wheat wasn't coming out to easy...lol cheers Alhoy

Is there any set mount of holes to drill in the bottom of a 5 gallon drum to make a pheasant feeder....how many and what size drill to used..?? Cheers Alhoy

first batch of chicks will be a week old tomorrow...with a 'Few' more to come 9 days...other batch in a fortnights time......could say am going to have My hands full..

....went yesterday having caught a few perch..had one est to weigh 2lb 4ozs'...to 2lb 8ozs..was a cracking fish.....todays biggest weighed in at 2lb...still a fine fish.. had other perch weighing between 3/4 lb to 1 1/4lb..even My parnter got in on the fish..first time fishing also even the young un caught decent fish...but was camera shy'.. the truth....didnt like the feel of the fish....lol... while reeling in a couple of oerch..they were attacked by a perch...which made the 2lber look like a small fish.. ..so am going back with some sprat and sandeels.....fish were caught on f

am looking for books ..info really..had a disaster this year.most of eggs had chicks inside fully ready to chip out..but only a few managed to break out...the rest seem to have not been able to break out..didnt seem to have energy/strength.?? followed the instruction manual..but some where, somehow things went amiss... so looking to read up for next year... cheers Alan

pup at 8mths know its here somewhere... ...hmmmm it should be here ..I spy with my little eye...well shoot it will you ..!!!. This evening took the pup over to a nearby farm..to see what she is like under fire...couldn't of asked for more from her....took to it like she had been doing it for years.. of course I missed more birds then normal due to watching pup.. :whistle: :whistle: but still ended up with 20 odd birds from 35 shots... the avatar pic is pup at 6wks... ..have taken on some more ground....this ground is peaty....with a little of 'Ditch's' favourite grass...lol..on it....not allowed any form of fertilizer/manure on it...except what comes out of the stocks butt......'s'..so the ground will be stale/sour......any advice ..greatly appreciated.... cheers Alhoy

float fished sandeel/mackerel strip.....spinning.........usually pick up pollock..... Alhoy

freelining......just using bait on the hook no weight...float...etc.........if using sandeel...hook through the mouth..take line make to half hitch's over the sandeel tail..pull line till tightish...cast out...let it sink...just flick tip of rod..reel in a little .till ready to cast out again.. Yes..of course they can....remember a few years back...seen a lad & lass walking a ferret on lead......weeks later when out ferreting....seen this couple over the boundry fence..they where ferreting......this little Pet ferret was certainly putting the bunnies into the nets......lol......also some of the ferrets/poleys I used to breed went to pet homes..later on to be breed with other pet ferrets...some of these went to working homes....so 2/3 yrs later from being ' working stock'...these pet ferrets where in the field working their little cotton socks off..
