  1. Another person running with the black dog after I slipped them. I know it's not scientific, just a bit of fun but still surprising to see they greyhound fail to keep up. I suppose the heavy ground might have had something to do with it.
  2. A few pics from a walk out with the hounds. The fawn bitch beat the blue bitch (greyhound) over 200m straight surprisingly in the field. Very surprised! Used iphone in the rain, therefore no action shots unfortunately. Enjoy the couple of pics I managed. Striker
  3. You don't see many full brindle whip/ greys, it's a cracker.
  4. Aye does it - proper old war horse!
  5. Like the look of that black and White dog........ Anyone from Yorkshire came across dave the dickhead before?
  6. No problem mate, will act as a reminder then. Yeah want to watch it but don't want to give them the viewing figures. I'm sure we will be portrayed in a bad light so if we are the programme will be followed up by masses of complaints I'm sure! FTB
  7. Itv1 tonight 730 - wildlife police tracking down hare coursers.
  8. The White one is a cracker....... I'm guessing that one was one of the first to be sold?!
  9. Try using a brighter lamp. The blitz is one of the brightest and that will make it a bit easier for the dog until it gets used to it. If you dont have one ask around and loan someone's then move back onto your own lamp once the dog is following the beam. What lamp you using just now?

Jf1970 Ur not baw there's a touch of saluki in the dog in your avatar!
  11. Don't over worry if it won't jump 6bar gates. Ye it's good to have a dog that can jump a fence to continue a chase but equally it's not so good if you have a dog who thinks they can jump anything and ends up landing on a 6ft barbed wire fence an tear themselves open! (I've seen it). If they think of the sensible way round/ under a fence it's sometimes not so bad as you think, they are just using common sense. I have a mate who reckons jumping high fences is as important as catching game. Unless ypu are entering a high jump competition then it's not! If it still fills the pot then jumping is sl

  15. lol ,here we go Haha somome said it on here so it must be true
  16. The black assassin jacked once so all pups he sires will jack
  17. Weight isn't everything, I seen plenty o fat b******s got beaten up with skinny lads. Your example gives a 5kg difference - let's think about it the fox lives in the wild chasing, sleeping in toughest conditions. Most whippets either in warm kennels or in house and spoon fed by owners each day. 5kg's is f**k all!
  18. Yes but have the vets number on speed dial......
  19. IMO It does not matter if the dog is bred for the fens ie lots of saluki blood or not, if you run the dog often enough on small fields the dog will get used to having to go in for the strike more often otherwise it will keep losing what it is in pursuit of. Some of them are clever animals (not all of course). Starting such dogs on these fields rather than switching from fens to small land would probably produce better results though I reckon.
