  1. Lamping rabbits with a greyhound is a no no, will be injured too often! Go for the whippet and put a coat on it outside in the winter an it will be fine.
  2. Was that directed at my comment?
  3. Not just that it is disrespectful to other genuine running dog owners. Less rabbits for winter= less genuine sport, less pheasants=hassle from people who run shoots. Why make enemies when we can just stick by the country code and hunt when it is right to do so?! The odd rabbit for a young pup/ mooch is ok but why deliberately go out to catch numbers plus disrupt shoots bird programmes?! FFs we don't all want to be stamped as idiots who have respect for nothing!!!!!
  4. rocky in all fairness pal you moan about peolpe putting out of season photos up and you dont no a cock pheasant from a hen  course i know the difference but was,nt 100% sure the cock sits the eggs, regardless like i said don,t think its clever 2 post pictures ,i,m out tonite with my pup but i,ll bet your bottom doller i,ll not be posting halfgrown rabbits all over the site nothing wrong with putting pics of rabbits up. i believe theres no closed season on rabbits except for on some or all common land. its the same with hares no closed season on them being shot only a closed se
  5. For the anti guests, only the vey occasional idiot acts like this and it is not a true reflection of the genuine dog men on this site! The majority abide by the law and hunt game that is in season......
  6. That amount of game caught in a day is not justifiable this time o year. One or two rabbits when out a walk with the dogs - fair enough can't stop them chasing. This is why us lurcher men find it difficult to get permission and cooperation with shoots etc on estates, stupid w******s like this bragging about killing out of season game!
  7. Here's a thought. Do you think the skeletal shape/ lung capacity of salukis bred in Britain for many generations will differ much to that of those still bred in the middle east? Also do those lads in the fens ever get any salukis imported? Ps no one tell me to pm baw! Haha Cracking video!
  8. Cracking looking pup. Anything you need to know about lurchers you will find on this forum! Good luck with her.
  9. Striker= perfect for almost any distance of lamping. Turn the head widen the beam short or opposite narrow and long enough beam for any chase. Blitz lights up whole field and battery dies in no time and lancer not powerful enough for all chases. ATB Striker
  10. Watching that makes my f*****g blood boil!
  11. I feel gutted I never managed to attend one, Maybe one day when the recession is over the Tories will lift the ban..................
  12. Just missed it.........................by 6 years ......lol Just seen the date lol. I thought maybe one being held in Ireland somewhere?!
  13. Where is it on? I've never been but would love to go!!!
  14. Paid £30 to my cousin for my first lurcher 8 years ago an £60 for my current dog. I'm gradually pushing the boat out lol. I hope to buy a 3/4 saluki 1/4 grey in the autumn so will prob be willing to pay up to £250 for a pup off good lines.
  15. depends on who ye use, an how far, but its probs about 100 quid fae 1 end a britain to other I suppose that's a fair price, there is obviously demand for this service so fair play to them. I would rather go visit the litter and parents before picking a pup out personally but of course some people dont drive so they don't have that option if it's other end of the country. Cheers for info ATB Striker
  16. Have heard of people mention a "transporter". How much is this service and is this like a parcel force delivering dogs/ pups?
  17. There's an earlier post on here describing how to do it. Sign up for photobucket
  18. Fine specimen of a dog! It has a very deep chest, you sure there no saluki in it fella? Striker
  19. Hover over the little buttons when you reply or start a new post to the one thy says insert image, then insert the direct link you copied from photo bucket and insert the image. ATB Striker
  20. Has anyone else experienced their dog not following or bothering to chase after the lure??? I could understand if it was a rubbish lure but it is a fox tail we use so find it strange.......
  21. Haha aye it is the broomy down bottom pitches. The lure stretches over both pitches well over 200 yards. 4 or 5 runs on that the day will knock a few pounds off them!
  22. It's good in that you can choose how quickly to bring in the lure. This mean you can slow it way down for the terriers to put it in front of their nose. The black dog in photos wouldn't Sprint after the lure he wasnt interested in it, annoying when you want to see a gd race!
  23. Will get pics up later triesd to load 15 at once twice now and this laptop won't load them at once!!!
