  4. http://i1229.photobucket.com/albums/ee461/scott873/59baf241.jpg I have a wood burning furnace to burn logs in the winter. Heats up the whole kennels an doesn't burn electricity
  5. Forgot to add to that, feeding a greyhound the same day may take off a few 1/10ths of a second which may make the difference between winning and losing a race. Those sorts of spot times make no difference to a lurcher out to fill the pot...
  6. I personally have always fed my dog around half 3, 4ish every day and if I'm going lamping I normally go around 9ish. I believe this is plenty of time and my dog has never fitted or cramped after a hard night lamping. Done this for 7 years with him and he's never looked sluggish or bloated. Although the lads I go out with constantly moan "you better not have fed him today" as they won't feed them at all that day, cruelty is what that is!!!!

Nice one, just downloaded the app. I didn't realise how easy it is from the iPhone! Cheers Striker
  9. Ace video and great insight into the life of a hare. Was surprised to hear of leverets all year round. You can't beat getting up close to the hares when they are boxing in the spring/ summer, joy to watch. Thanks for sharing
  10. That is absolute comedy gold. Bit of a shame for those that got pups and put the time an effort into them.
  11. Nice Pups, the fawn one actually looks like a 6month old terrier!
  12. Stud fee £250, Bud has sired 3 times successfully. All of which turned out cracking litters. ATB Striker has he won anything........ £250 is a lot if not can get a direct son from BC warlard for £150 pal ...... The dog is my dads and he stopped trialing before he got the dog 10 yrs ago. He has been used as a gundog successfully for 9 years. I don't think the price is unreasonable given his breeding (on both sides) and the fact his previous litters sold for much more than the stud fee per pup.
  13. Stud fee £250, Bud has sired 3 times successfully. All of which turned out cracking litters. Or may consider a pup, depending on the breeding of the bitch. ATB Striker
  14. Stud fee £250, Bud has sired 3 times successfully. All of which turned out cracking litters. ATB Striker

  16. Got out today for first time since the hurricanes and rain stopped with the new camera. Good day out for a mooch with the two dogs. My old dog 8 years old seems to have found a new lease of life over the past month. Shot and retrieved 3 big bunnies over the last 4 times he's been out in Dec/Jan (2 on the lamp/ 1 daytime). I was thinking of retiring him after the bad injury he had. He seemed to have lost a lot of his pace but I reckon there's one more season in him yet. Still getting used to using the camera, but hope you enjoy the pics. 2nd pic was taken pre ban on another camera.
  17. Think this started as a wind up and the chap is laughing at the replies no doubt.....
  18. would that be them crap reedy field,s ? There are a few reedy fields but they are far from crap. Almost perfectly square shaped and the reeds are only an issue if your running dogs on it in the Summer...which hopefully you are not.
  19. Mauchline in Ayrshire has the strongest brown hares I have seen. Takes a good dog to nab a wintered hare there during the day. And to add to the complexity of the dog catching them, they all seem to know where every obstacle is, every run, be it double dyke, ditch, pole or road!
  20. A good night out by all accounts. Those Bull x's look the business.
  21. The greyhound looked as if it was trying to get to it yes, hard to tell though. I'm contemplating putting the black dog over it, it's a long distance track greyhound. I might want re-assurance with the lure next time that it is actually faster though haha .
