  1. Yep, I can see what you mean Martin, in the original photo it was defintiely not in the right place.....looked like it was in someones garden, I am glad you went with moving it to the woodland area instead . Good job, nice location, has it paid dividends yet. Actually Dave it was ina garden, but,I had a lot of deer out of it mate, till the field was sold and I lost the permission,so,over to the market garden it went, and it has only been there a week or so.

  3. I bought one of the cheapo highseats, and wasn't at all happy with it as the rest was not adjustable and was not in the right place,so,I had a new top end made for it out of ally box section, here is a few pics...... Original.... and with new top.... Martin
  4. Alright Ideation, these particular ones were shot on a couple of small holdings that are next door to each other, and they both have chooks and both have lost some over the last few days.I have another two places close by as well that are having real trouble with chook killing foxes,so expect more of the same.....lots of dead cubs!! Martin Alwyas the same this time of year martin..I'll be at them this week no doubt. Have you found unusually high numbers this year Ian? Martin
  5. One thing for sure if you do/have shot any gulls don't give them to ferrets as they are full of salmonella,I found that out the hard way probably 30 yrs ago.
  6. Through them in the bushes out of site like everybody else, what do you do?.. You know thats not quite right mate. The answer is. . . . . . Stand there beaming like an idiot, whilst taking numerous photos of the dead beast, and composing your next THL post. And then lob it in a hedge. Although before that i usually cut the tail off to scare children with. And i have promised my missus that i will skin them this year so she can make a coat. . . . .seriously, she's nuts. I gotta say I like the sound of your Mrs 'ID'. On another point you made about sho
  7. Veg is important, but it has to be ground to release the nutrition as dogs cannot extract it unless it has been broken right down, that is why the gut content is usually the first thing to go on a carcase. Martin
  8. As a small part of the diet is fine, but, tripe is virtually all water and as such has very little if any nutritional value, but as a fillip it is ok.Green is better than bleached. Martin
  9. Oh you poor thing that is awful, but,it could have been a lot worse,I know maybe it doesn't seem that way now,but it was very near your eye.It woulod be easy to say you will be able to trust a dog in the future, but,it might take a while.I wish you all the very best young lady. Martin x

  13. Went out last thing for a trip round a few fields to mop up any cubs that have been overlooked lately, and had a couple as well as missing one when I clipped a thistle just in front of him.You wouldn't think that a thistle would make that much difference, but,it sure does and that has left me with a cub that will not be quite so easy to come to terms with, but hey ho I will have to get a bit sneaky to get him.Had a lamping mate with me that brought his .22 and he had 3 bunnies for my dogs as well,so not a bad night all told.
