I went out monday night and got totally drenched, by 9 0clock it didn't appear to be getting any better so I packed in and went home. I still ended up with 3 but as with any new permission it's getting a handle on where the best spots are and what times work best. The weather looks to be dry on Saturday morning so I'm going back early doors where I'll hopfully have a bigger bag.

I've just got back from visiting a 46 acre plot that has a slight rabbit problem. The guy who owns it is trying to grow christmas trees and the big eared buggers keep chewing his sapplings. He phoned me yetserday after a guy from the ferret rescue place I use gave him my number and said there were loads of rabbits about. Now I don't know about you but I've lots of land owners tell me they have"loads" of rabbits only to find out there are about 3 but in this case he was right. Nine oclock in the morning and the place was swarming with them. So I am now in possesion of a signed permissio

Just to back up the sentiments of kpr1969 I can't fault Davy for his service and honesty. In this day and age when we hear all sorts about people getting ripped off and crap service it's good to see someone who is bucking that trend. My silencer arrived this morning only 2 days after it being ordered. Top job davyT63, thankyou.

I agree with the others, cat food (tuna) or peanut butter, Mind you if there are that many of them it sounds like there's enough bait already.

I've got a Lanber 28" multi choke, like you it was my first gun and to be honest my only gun. I do allsorts with it (clay, game, pigeon etc) and I can't fault it. Yes you can go out and spend umpteen pounds on better guns but for your money you can't go wrong. It's steel shot proofed and chabered for 3" so it covers most areas really. I was toying with the idea of getting a Hatsan semi to go with it but I decided that my trusty Lanber was good enough. Another good thing is from what I hear they also hold their price pretty well so if you did want to get a more expensive gun in the

Cheers Joe Their cage and the run is cleaned and disinfected twice a week so I'm ok on that front. Thanks for your help.

One of my four jills is now in season and I don't think it will be too long before the others follow suit. So to remedy the problem I'm picking up a vasectomised Hob tomorrow, the problem being he has only had his op on wednesday. Now I know I have to leave it a while before he can be put with a Jill but will the "in season" Jill be ok in the mean time or would it be best to get her jabbed. Any help you chaps could give would be much appreciated. Regards Dave

I can see both sides of the argument regrding whether the nitesite system is worth the cash. I personaly believe that for static shooting especialy rat shooting nothing gets close. And with this new battery that I'm using the weight issue isn't even a factor. What I would suggest to those who are thinking of buying this system is to get down to a local gun shop that stocks the kit and try it for yourself. It won't suit everyone but hey thats life.

Where in Wiltshire? I'm very interested in the .410, would be willing to drive down from Birmingham tomorrow night.

After having the battery for a few days I can confirm that it more than meets up to the standard of the supplied nitsite battery. It will lasy 2 hours when the unit is on it's highest setting and over 6 hours when the unit is set midway. Hope this helps some of you.

I know some you don't like the new Nitesite kit but for those of you who do you might be intrested to know you can get a much lighter battery. The current unit is 3.3amp and weighs a ton, this new one is 4.8amp Lithium Ion and weighs next to nothing, it's also about the same size as a packet of fags. So small in fact you could probably attach it to your rifle. I am normaly a bit reluctant to order stuff from Hong Kong etc but this battery arrived in less than a week. I haven't give it a full go yet but I plugged it in to my NS50 tonight and it's still going strong now 3hrs and 50 m
