  1. 400 in a night would be an awesome prospect, maybe one day ey. I bet the butchers liked you
  2. just out of curiosity whats the biggest bags of rabbits you've had daytime or night? with the recent posts from the dales, i was just curious. ATB
  3. cheers, yeah he helped put a couple of nets down, i like to catch the bolters, thats what its all about, a good bit of sport and some good fun.
  4. £500 is a lot of money to chance on 5 rabbits, it seems the outcome could be potluck on such few quarry, you would probably have more interest if you either: 1) raise the number of rabbits. 2) lower the bidding 3) have two nights at it so you know that the best man wins
  5. yeah, cant wait for her to fully mature to take her out on other quarry, im hoping shell turn out well, shes one to look out for in the future!
  6. I, you better! havent seen you in ages! well take you out on the lamp with her, im impressed! i think she is more of my kind of dog, ill hopefully stick to similar breeding in the future! If you look on some of the pig hunting forums there are deerhounds crossed with mastiffs and such like that look quite reminiscent of the wolfhound.
  7. why go for something that died out years ago, that is expensive and something that the 'show ring' has ruined, that isnt as fast as any other lurcher and costs twice as much in food! It is a nice prospect thinking that their might be a few decent ones around, but there isnt. Also, what you were saying about taking sikka and roe ect and you want something similar looking, go for a deerhound, or deerhound x. The answer to your main question as you may have figured by the recent posts, its not worth having the cross in a lurcher, they dont bring anything to the table. cheers
  8. definitely could do with a lure for them to chase or something to show their real speed, because couldnt the black dog just have been chasing the fawn saluki bitch? As at quite a young age can still be very playful. atb
  9. very good tomo, it looks like those lurchers are very experienced dogs.
  10. could give it a go jamie, good idea
  11. cheers shaunpauls, it is a pleasure to be on and work on. That day we were out with a relative who is a gamekeeper and has plenty to of land to be on, so its a pleasure when we can get up there, thanks for the positive comment
  12. Advice has been given; so it should be taken upon, im sure we can sort these little problems out, to get the most out of our ferreting expeditions.
  13. anyway, cheers everyone, look out for our new clips that will be hopefully uploaded this weekend if we go out to hopefully see improvements. ATB
  14. thanks iceman. Ideation- it would also be a boring place if every dog was perfect, so ill look forward to taking some of the 'advice' on board, but i can see where iceman is coming from, its a pup at the end of the day son.
  15. i would also like to see other peoples ferreting clips
  16. hah, dont worry about it mate, yes, she seems to get better and better for it, so in our next clips, you should see the improvements (i.e. no yapping). The 'advice' iv been given i will use in the next videos, so look out for them next weekend! Also, in the next clips i look forward to a bit more 'advice'. Hopefully to get the best out of our working lurchers.
