  1. hi all, wondering if anyone has had one of these crosses and are they good allrounders, how tall they are etc. pictures would be great
  2. it depends on the proportion of rabbits to hares your hunting. more hare then you want more greyhound, more rabbits the you want more whippet, a nice allrounder thats good on hares would probably be half greyhound, quarter collie, quarter whippet, but for you as your mainly hunting rabbits you could probably do with half wippet etc. its mainly up to you and personal preference

  4. bedlington/whippet/greyhound or collie/whippet/greyhound etc
  5. but that begs the question why would you want a gun dog with extra pace as presumably they are all ready bred right for the job,or are they, dont know iv lost myself now Would this not technicaly be a lurcher ????? ATB have heard of a few of this type over the years but they certainly not common,i asked about gry/lab long time ago but people were very negative prob due to the likely litter waistage,to heavy I recon your right mate but would be interesting to see what a light weight long dog say Saluki x Greyhound first cross and one of the lighter weight field trial
  6. i have a bedlington/whippet bitch 11 months, doing well on the lamp and has been since 8 or 9 months
  7. its not just bull crosses but terrier blood has been added for years, this was added to racing whippets years ago to obviously improve the dogs..... my point is that a lot of lurchers have small amounts of bull terrier that arent visually distinguishable, maybe your noticing more bull terrier crosses as people are adding more bull terrier blood so your noticing it more.
  8. at full fitness bedlington/whippets can do anything you ask them
  9. it will without a doubt get injurys sumtime in its working live through fences hidden objects etc.you can,t wrap it up in cotton wool.but to come out with that statement your either a new starter to the dog world or a youngster or both...no disrespect, but read a few topics or books etc before posting on here.... no, my grandad was head keeper at sandringham and he had near enough every breed of lurcher. i just wouldnt want to injure her if there is no need, anyway this is really going off the topic, everyone is probably gettin a bit piss*d off.
  10. If she aint gonna do it she probably will pull off rather than take that bad a beating and if she wants to do it bad enough she wont get 'that' hurt. Any how, the fox will have been shot first anyhow, or you'll be on holiday in ireland where the foxes are poofs. . . . thanks everyone for the advice, much appreciated
  11. the best i have witnessed was 1/4 Rhodesian 1/4 bull 1/2 greyhound
  12. yeah, well as you say, i could try her on a charlie when shes a bit older but i was just worried it would injure her
  13. he has mate'' 5/8 3/8 w.b.... yer i thought id herd that, chocolates and blacks ......jezza if you want a nice pup of bull whippet breeding see mr powell or one of the lads from this site who are breeding from 100% proven stock.theres a lot of efort goes into a litter of pups, too much effort to bother with from an unproven bitch.hope this makes sense. yeah, its just it would be satisfying working one of your own bred pups.
