    start small and build up mine would skim the wire fences till he skimmed an electric fence and got a belt,thought it might of put him off jumping but he jumps alot better now and always goes higher than the actual fence atb.

    i get earache all the time off the inlaw ie you cant have hunting dogs round kids, they shouldnt be in the house you shouldnt be going out lamping you should be at home with your family and the final straw was im sick of coming round here and having that dog come upto me!!! and my reply DON'T FECKING COME ROUND NO MORE YOU MISERABLE FECK!!!! i have 5 kids aged from 2 -12 i had dogs before i had the children and im sure by the time the kids have grown up and moved out i will still have dogs i will never sell due to the having children for 1 the kids wouldnt let me atb steve

    le chameus all the way ive just got a new pair before xmas the versonord they replaced the last pair of versonord which i bought in 2003 looked after properly they are brilliant

    i do believe lepto attacks the liver more than anything else then shuts the nerve system down which could cause a fit which could possibly cause brain damage leading to the blindness but for it to happen to the lads dog that quick i would think it was more likely to be a chemical or antifreeze.... if was you davehunter i would of went back an took a sample from the puddle atb

    very true, i had a mate who lost his 2 dogs to antifreeze but also some farmers use a chemical which contains carbendizene which is absolutly lethal if it gets into water the slightest bit can cause the same effects if not kill its been banned for a few year now but some do still use it if they have some left in stock,so if they been spraying for a fungal problem or pesticide then it may of been used...i make a point of taking a bottle of water out with me and try my best not to let the dogs drink from puddles,sterams or ponds atb steve

    depends what sort of land you where on mate i know antifreeze can be nasty and do damage but depends where puddle was ie near tyre tracks farm yard ect more info would help like what type of crop was near...... i do a lot of dealing with pestacides herbacides and fungasides

    i lost a good terrier to a kennel fight mate split them up and dont let them in same kennel together anymore not worth the risk atb.

    i love hunting alone, i have a good hunting partner who maybe once a week we go out but it mostly done on my own i call it me time...take for instance yesterday i was out alone and came across some roe tracks fresh i followed them up and found three roe grazing i crept with in 30 yards with the dog and sat and watched them for about ten min before the dog got to impatiant wanting to run them i couldnt slip him as i had to major roads either side of me but it was the pleasure of been me and the dog sat watching them even though the dog was well peed that he didnt run them atb steve

    accidents happen mate i get like it when the dog jumps the baby gate and knocks my 2 year old girl but she gives more than she gets im just glad the dog just takes it and moves away rather than snapping or worse with her but it is shock factor at first and your first instinct is to protect your child

    i always give chance not to many though if its not to be its not to be i had a saluki/greyxcollie skip he jacked totally wouldnt even look at them but he was good hare dog then at 8 year old my bullx was drawing a fox pre ban and another fox bolted i had skip with me for the walk he took after this fox and went to town on it after then in his last year before the accident he took and drew them.

    ive known of a few to jack on first bite but they remember that incident and most get stuck right in the next time to make sure there bite does more....a bullx i once owned never touched sharp stuff till 18 month she took the teeth straight across the nose and stood wondering what the hell happened a week later she hit a fox with such force and aggression it was killed out right and from then on if they grabbed her she ragged more and bit harder. deer/greyxcollie/grey/bed/whip took 2 attempts where he jacked then he put up a fox day time and went jaw locked with it across his nose he has never
